Hi Tom. Sorry to hear about your wife. I am glad she is doing better and at home now. Your poem is informative and well written. The repeat and refrain works in nicely. Subtle. Creative. Excellent work :)

Thank you for introducing more of us to the Sevenelle form and sharing your wife's challenging health ordeals. I admired your rhymes and repeats for emphasis. I never really knew what Osteomyeli tis is and I am glad you and your wife are beating its severe effects. Warm regards- Joan

Hi Treischel,

I am so saddened to hear your dear wife has suffered so much, but I am glad she is better now! This is a horrid, extremely painful infection. Your poem and notes are great. I am.glad you are able to write about this experience. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Hi Tom,
What a horrible time your wife has had and I'm so glad they has finally found
the cause and she now has some relief.
You have chosen a fine style format with repeated lines to tell her story with clarity and impact.
I wish you both well.
Blessings
Shirley

Tom,

Oh, my. Bless her heart! And yours, as well. The caregiver is often forgotten in all the rush and bustle and I know that it can't have been easy to care for her during all of this. I'm glad she's feeling better - hope it continues!

Dear Lord, I ask you as our great physician that you would heal Tom's wife and ease her pain. Give her the comfort that only you can give. Give Tom the strength he needs as her caretaker. I ask this is the Name of Jesus, Amen!

A very well-written heartfelt Sevenelle. I am very sorry to hear your wife had to go to so much trauma. It was the same with me causing me to lose my left leg whIle Osteomyelitis was only diagnosed after the amputation.

God Bless her. It sounds as though she has really been through an ordeal, poor lady. Thank God the Doctors were educated enough to discover the cause. Well done with the poem Tom. Nancy:)

Oh, Tom, your poor wife! I've never heard of osteomyelitis before, and don't want to again, or it will mean someone else has it. To be that painful she wanted to die, must have also have been painful for you too. When we see our loved ones suffer so much and we don't know what we can do to help them, it's the worse thing ever. Your poem says it all, the feelings and emotions come through very well. Breaks my heart to know people suffering that much. Sending a hug to you both, my friend. Sandra xx

My heart goes out to your wife having to cope with this level of pain. It must be unbearable for her and also for you having to cope. I am pleased that the worst seems to be passed now but, even so a background pain leavel as high as she is having to bear can be no fun at all.

I have seen several of these sevenelles since the form was highlighted in the Potlatch club here on FanStory. Mostly they seem to be made up odf two stanzas. This is the first 'doubled' version I have come across.

Thank you Jim. I appreciate your words of support and comfort.
Yes, the example provided for the Sevenelle showed only two stanzas, but allows for more. I suppose that if you get much beyond 4, the repetition becomes overbearing, unless you really want to drive a strong point home. If it hasn't already, with these 4.

I think your length is fine. I also think you are right not to extend beyond four stanzas for the reasons you state.
