Now, Jimmy is the kind of kid whose neck I would like to grab hold of and squeeze and until his eyes pop out is what the Grandmother response should have been especially when he asked the hippo question. The story goes to Jimmy being hilarious to saving himself from being choked to death.

Hi Maria,
Awwww - This is such a cute story, my friend. And a surprise ending that was sweet. As always, nothing here for me to suggest improving upon. Thanks for sharing your great work. Jan

This is a lovely little story. Grandmothers are very special people.
I think perhaps you have the punctuation wrong in the following: 'There was silence for a while. Jimmy thought, his grandma hoped the conversation was over. No such luck though...'
I think there needs to be a period after 'thought'. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Maybe 'Jimmy was thinking about what to say next but his grandma hoped....'

Thanks for your review, Judy. I kind of wrote it like that on purpose, but I understand what you mean.

She's baaack, lovin' your humorous story. You've captured the essence of childhood innocense while asking questions. I am now lost for the overall story line, I think not but I shall 'catch on" if I get back into the flow. I enjoyed this light hearted dialogue, thanks for sharing your talent!

A very well-written story about the tough grandma and Jimmy's excellent observation of her character. The children are always very observant and curious about our actions.

Oh if I had a six...
Being a grandmother, I loved this written piece. The interaction between grandma and grandson was absolutely the best and the understanding even better

Kids can say the craziest things but he ended the conversation perfectly. And kudos to that grandma for holding her own and answering his questions like she did. That's something we all need to learn to do. She was graceful and the child never felt like he did anything wrong being inquisitive. I love it.

Good recovery, Jimmy.
When little inquisitive Jimmy asked his grandmother if she was a Hippo I was beginning to fear he was treading on shaky ground.
Hey, one thing about kids no one can fault, they are brutally honest.
Nice story, Maria.

LOL, this is a terrific story, even to find out the young'un was smart enough to know that some of the things he was saying were a wee bit rude. Yay for Nana.
