Hi Maria,
Very well written on what is, unbelievably, still an issue in much of the south. One would think rational persons would have come to realize the beauty and value of diversity, but I suppose rational is the operative. As always, nothing here for me to suggest improving upon. Thanks for sharing your great work. Jan

Ruby was certainly a brave little girl. There is a space missing after 'Ah!' in the phrase 'Ah!'You say.
And I might have put a comma after 'Strong' in 'Strong burly U.S. Marshals escorted her to class.'

Hi Maria. Thank you for writing about this delightful little girl, which I knew of, of course. Our history here in the states as well as other parts of the world left a lot to be desired. A sweet little girl for sure. Marilyn

A very well-written story about a little girl who has the courage of a lion, to face the children in school who disrespect her because of the color of her skin. She overcomes the obstacles and paves the path for others in the same situation.

Well, all too real. I haven't seen the below film you submit here, but I will certainly take a look.
Hope all is well, my dear friend.
Easing in after a few months away.
Hope to find motivation.
My very best dear author.
Have a good day.

I saw this movie.
It was great.
Such an important moment in history.
A shame that it even had to be.
This is wonderful!
Blessings...

A good story about history being made, Maria. It is refreshing to read about the Ruby's in the world, they stepped forward in each step they took to make the world a better place, well done.

You as well Maria and you are so welcome.

It certainly was a huge mission for one small very brave little girl, and she displayed a great deal of courage in doing so. It is little acts of sacrifice such as this that makes freedom become a reality. Well done, Maria, blessings Roy.

This happened in my junior year in high school. When the black students came to our school for the first time there was almost no difficulties. Before school started that year, my mom sat me down and instructed me that I was to treat the black students with the same respect I wish other to treat me.

An amazing story Maria and of course this history we are all familiar with and looking back it is so tragic and I'm so glad we have moved on from those terrible times so that all people from all backgrounds, race, colour and creed can live in harmony. You are right about that little girl, she was so brave and I wonder what she is doing today? Love Dolly x
