This cinquain, View to Tomorrow, has the proper formatting and reminds us that we literally can exist in the past and future if we we know how to PRESENT ourselves.

The midnight hour seems to feature strongly in the imagination of poets, being - as it is - on the cusp between the old day and the new. You capture something of the essence of that in this poem about looking, like Janus, both backwards and forwards.

Same to you, Yvette.
We're enjoying perfect autumn weather at the moment, so I imagine that it will be a gardening weekend!

Hooray for gardening! :) My husband has been trying to put down a few new beds while it's my job to get the old ones in shape!! :) :) Enjoy the outdoors, sir! :) Yvette

Midnight, in a sense the dawning of either new life, or eternal nothingness, as the eleventh hour saints sent into the fields earned the same as those that bore the heat of the day. God is merciful to all who ask. A beautifully writte cinquain Yvette, good luck, blessjngs, Roy

You have made excellent use of all your syllables in this thought-provoking
5-7-5 about that sudden moment of transcendence that seldom comes--but is so
riveting and clear when it comes.

Hi, Yvette,
Thank you for sharing your lovely cinquain for the contest. I love the thought of looking at the future when we gaze at the dawn. I never thought of it that way, but now, I will never think of it differently,

Yvette,
Yes, we have all been to the 'edge' at moments in our lives. The question is do we seize that moment or not.
Your entry poem was a delightful opening for this day. Your dark background was a perfect match for your midnight nexus.

A different view that I would look at but we all have our opinions of the mid of night. I liked the third line best but the fifth I will have to pass. But anything is possible in this world.

Never thought of it that way. After that first moment, the future becomes now. Interesting thought. Beautiful presentation. Good luck in the contest.
