Wow!!! This is a fantastic little story about the seahorse. It's truly informative, they're such interesting little creatures. That would be so horrible if they became extinct. (Sigh) I love the little internal rhymes you've woven in. Nicely done! Good luck! ~Kerry

I just gave you my thumbs up launching you into 2nd. I am horrified by the way the Chinese dispose of these sea creatures and there should be a law, right now, against it. WHY don't you start a rally. Read mine, also. lolol liberty justice

Than you so much for your support .. I have not voted yet so I had no idea how the contest was going..

The Chinese are guilty for the death of millions of sea horses , the Japanese of the whales .. the list goes on ...

We are leaving a dying planet to our children ..

I will certainly visit your portfolio ..thank you Liberty Justice!

FRANCA: I hope this greeting finds you in the best of health, and that you are feeling well. Franca, I need your help here. First of all...this is an inquiry. It is by no means presumption.
I've viewed your posting here several times before I addressed you concerning this matter...because I sincerely want to decipher this the correct way, Franca. I respect your ladyship. I don't want anything to ever make you doubt that. That's why I need your help here...so I don't, "Muff," this. I've tried to detail what you have said here. Franca, is this right?
The female waits until she meets a male that she believes she can trust. Then she deposits her life inside of his life, having faith in him, that he will protect her...and her's. He does...because he loves her. Ultimately, they produce a harvest, that is immediately self sufficient. If I haven't, "Muff," it...email to email...Okay, Franca. God bless you and Lucia. Cordially: rhonnie69.

The male seahorse pratically does all the work .. He has a pouch on his stomach ( like a kangaroo) and the female deposits her eggs in the pouch .

From then on its the male that has care of the eggs : he fertilises and incubates them until they are ready .

Mr:Mom then expels the off spring ( fry) and from then on they are self sufficient ..

    It's quite an extraordinary process.

I love watching programmes on nature.

    Ciao!

the ocean is so full of strange and wondrous creatures. the sea horse is one of the most intriguing. your piece explains their plight, it would be a shame to see them become extinct..

Yes it would be a shame ..

Elephants , Tigers , whales ..are all on that list .

We exploit the planet: animals , forests and oceans ..

Today they are dying ..tomorrow will be our turn ..

Hi Contest Author,

Very well written and extremely informative contest entry. I cannot imagine that this piece, speaking on MORE innocent creatures tortured by the many millions by humans, would not win. Hands down!

It is embarrassing to be of the same species as those who are so cruel and greedy.

Thank you for speaking on behalf of our precious planetary neighbors who have no voice (i.e. almighty money to lobby!).

Thankyou for the positive review .

I also was shocked reading the numbers ..

These seahorses are so helpless ..
