I am always interested in shape shifters. They are so exotic. The story progresses and is exciting. I am eager to read more. Of course, some of the language is not really up my alley, so to speak, but I kind of gloss over it. It is the people and their gifts I find enthralling. :-)

Good work again. Was thinking you guys get mixed up between shaking heads or Nodding. Shaking is no, nodding is yes what about the following? Peadar shook his head good-naturedly as Kato nearly jumped out of his skin with enthusiasm. Actually, as I look again I think this is all ok in sequence.

Kato's vision still shown amber with his amped emotions- should be 'still shone amber'
"The sire will pay Her reparation in blood." - did you mean to have a capital for 'Her'?
she called after him, the grin on her face mischievous yet uncontainable - is 'uncontainable' a word? Perhaps 'ill-concealed'?
His face shown with all the interest and wonder - do you mean 'his face 'shone'

Overall, I enjoyed your story, but it's a lot to wrap my head around. I wish I'd read the beginning of this.

You mentioned one person being a lion shifter and Memphis is a nymph. I found it hard to get into each character and going through the character list only confused me more.
What time period are you going for?

Thanx, Russ -- you have missed a whole lot of backstory and until all the pieces get "together' over the next few chapters, writing a summary as you do with your story isn't really practical. Too much detail regarding the characters in the listing also spoils a lot that has yet to be 'revealed' through interactions and such. Thanx for the review and for those catches - much appreciated. This was great Yvette. I enjoyed this chapter very much. It had a great reading flow and seemed to bring out characteristics about each of those in the refuge. It was nice that Memphis was able to calm Kato, but that Lyca was threatened by the presence of Memphis. That will be interesting to work through. Very well done.

Kinda funny -- some folks think she's friendly and other aren't so sure...hmmmm, guess will have to wait and see!
