I love the way you just put down the teaching hat (beautiful teacher) and mosey over to the CQ hat - LOL - real quick like - hopefully, you will have more chapters that have some of this included in them down the road between some of the characters in your book. I like the feeling this Cinquain poem offers the reader. It is almost as if I am getting ready to just enjoy my evening with a special someone in the lovely back yard while some nice food is grilling away on the barbeque. I can put my feet up and just relax with a person that I enjoy having around. MRW I would just like to know do you have a secret corner of the Internet for pictures... 'Cause you seem to find some extraordinary ones for sure! Cheers, Fonda

Well, Beautiful Lady, as I have said before, my writing is my escape!! So, yeah, it is a quick hat switch....or, as it would be more aptly put, I sit on the teacher hat for a bit - LOL! ;) Thanx for your review on this one! ;) :) Take care! ;) Yvette

Excellent poem. Beautiful, unique, mood setting, loving, inspiring, and comforting. I very much enjoyed this piece. I think the picture fit this poem so well. If I was in any doubt of what this poem was about, the picture helped. Good luck in the contest!

Sunset seems to always be a thing in itself, I like how you use it to frame something deeper going on with another person, it makes it very romantic. The reader is able to step into the feeling with the closing line. Enjoyed reading it.

This one just melted me. Beautiful words, so loving and sweet, and a perfect picture to accompany it. This one wins my vote (and it was the last one I read, too. That metaphoric "Saving the best for last!" Good luck! Remember this, though, please: Whether it wins or not, it's still a fantastic poem. So good, in fact, I'm going to bookcase it. xo

Oh, Rachelle, thank you so very much for these wonderful comments -- I am just thrilled that you truly enjoyed my poem as much as I enjoyed writing it.....you know, it was just one of those that as soon as the first word, sunset, was on the paper, the rest just came out!! ;) ;) Thank you, thank you for your support and for your appreciation -- be sure to stop by after the contest is over and hang out for a while .... would love to have you around the place! ;) :) Take care and have a wonderful weekend! ;) ;)

A very well-written Cinqauin poem about sunset and the realization that we can spend much more time together with our loved one. To watch the sunset together is priceless.

Hi Contest Author,

Oooooh - this is a lovely poem and a great contest entry that should be a strong contender. Your verse leave lots to the imagination and is effectively complemented by the gorgeous image you've selected to display. Best of luck in the competition and thanks for sharing. Jan

What a beautiful and romantic poem, perfectly following the Cinquain Poetry rules (assuming, of course, that you're counting "hours" as a two-syllable word; I consider it one syllable, but I know others beg to differ). Between the picture and the words, you set a lovely and peaceful mood and tone around the sunset and all it holds in store.
