Wow Roxanne. Not only did you nail the Dr. Seuss dialect in this clever poem about tatoos, but the story about your brother was amazing as well. I don't have one. I told my 2 daughters while growing up, that tattoos on girls look trashy, but they got them anyway.

I have zero tattoos, and I am not for or against them. They do seem to be all the rage these days...that is why I LOVE your poem. Your nod to the great Dr. Suess is well-written and entertaining. Your author's notes made me chuckle!

    Thank you so much Cindy. It was very fun to write. When I was little my mom put in the Dr. Seuss reading club and I got a book a month. I was sooooooo thrilled. I got mail every month with my name on it! Pulls I love the books and read them over and over. The good old days. =} Thank you for the 6 stars as well. I'm honored. Rox

I just don't know why you'd lie about it. He could have taken that opportunity to go over the pros and cons of tattoo's with her. I have a tattoo on my wrist. I got the semi colon for mental health. I love it. I wear it with pride. I'm going to get two dragonflies at some point on the right side of my body. It's for me and my friend. She's getting two seagulls. They both have meaning for each other. I think tattoo's are fascinating but you need to be careful what you get and where you get it.

    I don't know why he lied, he isn't usually a liar, I don't think. ={ Maybe he was embarrassed? She now has 2 tattoos, a pink ribbon on the top of her foot the day her mom finished chemo, and yes it hurt like heck, and a bible verse across her back. You never see them unless she goes barefoot, the bible verse is seldom seen. But she is the sweetest, greatest person and smart as anything besides. So her dad is very proud of her as are we all. Thank you so much for the review and stars. =} Rox

I agree with you on the tattoo thing. They look great for a while (on men, not women). Eventually they fade and/or stretch out. Will that tattoo look as good at 70 as it did at 25? Not. Loved your poem to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Marilyn

Hi, Rox,

Your brother isn't only a liar, he's a woos!!! I have a large rose tattooed on my left shoulder. It didn't hurt at all. I have a ring tattoo on my left ring finger, and I watched the entire thing.

Your poem WAS great and a suitable tribute to Dr. Seuss. He would be proud.

Thank you for sharing,

~patty~

    My niece ended up with 2, a pink ribbon in honor of her mom who beat breast cancer on the top of her foot and yes that one hurt like heck, and a bible verse on her back. Neither are too noticeable. Thank you so much for the review. It was very fun to write. When I was little my mom put my name in the Dr. Seuss reading club and I got a book a month. I was sooooooo thrilled. I got mail every month with my name on it! Pulls I love the books and read them over and over. The good old days. =}

I had to laugh about your brother. At seventeen I had an eagle tattooed on my upper left arm, people are surprised to see one one on me, I suppose I could tell them it's based on Isaiah 40:31, but it isn't, it hurt, but I saw it out, who wants half an eagle? But I don't recommend them, I wouldn't like my kids to have them, nor my grands. Why Mark their perfect bodies. Well done Rox, an excellent rhyming work, a good post. Blessings, Roy

This is a great poem in Dr. Seus fashion, Rox. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines mimic his style well. There is good flow, good rhymes, and a great message. Thanks for the notes. Jan

    I hate tattoos as well but didn't want to say that as these days most people seem to have them. ={ Thanks for review. =}

He should have told her. It would keep her from using her skin for a canvass. I don't like them. Would never get one and I don't see anything about them that is appealing. It is crazy how some people do things just because someone they know did it. Those Tattoos look like hell when you age. I have seen the results. It's sickening.
