I am so angry right now! This simply can NOT be the end for dear Mildred. And it's so frustrating that Veronica has no voice! OY!! You've really made for quite the impossible situation! Got. To. Keep. Reading!!! xo

Hi Sandra. Your book is very enjoyable and well thought out, although I haven't read every chapter. Your descriptions bring the reader right into it. I wish you the best in the contest. Marilyn

oh my - suspense and plenty of it. Although I (obviously) can't follow the whole story - even your brief back story left me with questions. Understandable. But I get the gist of it. Great work of creating suspense and mystery too.
One paragraph stopped me - "now that I'd scared all the workers away with my 'chalk' antics" - For a bit I thought perhaps she'd murdered Mildred and didn't want to rescue her and that the workers would find her body when they came back to the ward.
Something about the smile and the satisfaction. Now that I finish reading, I see that she must have been smiling for some other reason.
I could follow your English terms well after half a lifetime of reading Catherine Cookson and other English writers. I can see this will continue being a great series as your character jumps around in the bodies of others. Good writing. I had a bit of trouble imagining how long this corridor was - why opening that particular door was the only way? and how many persons were in there to be rescued. Perhaps mentioning some of those facts would help the reader? Fascinating. And congrats on your new book released. congrats one coming in second.

Thank you so much for jumping in at that point, and I'm even happier that you enjoyed it. It's a complicated story, but it's the third book in the series, I'll write a short synopsis and it on the next part. Thank you again, I really appreciated you reading this part. :)) Sandra xxx (Thanks for the congrats!!)

OH wow what an ending! Mildred! You have to be ok....

This was such an intense and yet funny chapter. I really like how she had enough and started pushing that person in a wheel chair. Too funny!

I look forward to catching up with your work. Good job, lady. ;))

Very intense chapter. This is the first I have read of your story so I really don't know what's going on. I did not see any problems. Have a blessed weekend. Shirley

Thank you for reading this part, Shirley. Yes, it's quite a way into it now, so it would be hard to understand it. But, thanks for the review, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Oh poor Mildred! She needs medical attention! This is so scary! What about patient in the wheelchair? How is Veronica going to get them out? I hope that porter comes back!

Thank you so much for this lovely review, my friend. I'm glad you mentioned that last patient, I hadn't made it clear that the porter had taken them both. So, I've added this line....

Without standing on ceremony, the man lifted the smaller lady out of her wheelchair and put her on the lap of the other.  He then turned and looked at Mildred with a concerned frown, but she nodded and flicked her hand. ?Go on then; I?m fine!?

Thank you a million times for that. You were the only one that noticed. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

You're welcome. I worry about all the characters...which means you've done a great job developing them and your story.

Oh this is very well written Sandra. Plenty of tension and apprehension. It is quite remarkable how you keep the reader on tender-hooks, wondering about the outcome. Again you come up with a dramatic ending, leaving us wondering what will become of Mildred. Very good read.

Haven't spoken for a while, will ring you tomorrow.

A worthy six - Dorothy xx

Thank you so much, Dorothy, for another really lovely review and for giving me all those stars. Bless you! I had to try and get the tension right, as it would be in that situation. I'm so pleased you think I have. :)) Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I'll be around all day, but have my stepson popping in around lunch time for an hour, but look forward to having another chat. I hope you have some good news, for me!!!

Veronica barely has time to savor her satisfaction in unlocking the door before another disaster befalls her. She will save the lives of many people by doing her door trick, but will Mildred be one of those saved?
This chapter has captured the panic and heroism that often happen in a crisis. Good job.
