Ooooooh, it is getting spooky. A perfect story for this time of the year. I like Freki's name a lot. I was not sure if this was going to be SF or a horror story. Whichever it turns out to be, it is very good. :-)

NOT horror -- horror has got to be my least fav... although, I can't promise it will always be sunshine and roses here... :) :) :) :) Yvette

I do like the name of the woman who owed the boarding house; but sad to think that she's no longer active. Probably the story will bring her back in time so we find out what happened to her before her death.

This post had an interesting confrontation between Koko and Geoffrey. The plot continues to thicken and Maggi's name becomes more important as Rosemary's will is understood.

Is it just me or was this chapter super short! Like way shorter than a lot of the other!!!! I am feeling really sad as I know I only have one left that is for me to read today (Sunday) and I've been looking forward to all of this so much and now here this short chapter that flew by. Your writing is impeccable. But I have no idea what is going on. Is it because of the boy. There is something mystical coming and I can't wait. By the way is man bun Kato. Boy I sure hope so!? I need more physical descriptions regularly I like the tree part from before by the way... lol great fast chapter!!! Cheers, Fonda

They seems shorter as you go 'cuz you're getting into it....this one was just under 1100 whereas I try to shoot for 12-1300 when I do the 'cutting' for a post ..... that is 'cutting it out' of the word document where the writing is! ;) :) No, Kato is not man-bun...sorry. :( :( Keep on keeping on -- you're almost there! ;) ;) Yvette

Yes, Yvette the natives are restless. Koko does not like to be told who's the boss. From a warm kindhearted Indian to a wolf, not bad. It's going to be interesting when Marguerite's meet with the residents of the house. Good story you are developing. I will be reading more of course.

It may not be the actual Refuge in the story, but the home in the picture is gorgeous Yvette!!! Can I move in... PLEASE??? ;) (include the maid if you will!)
I did find one little thing you'll want to fix... in the paragraph that begins;
"Geoffrey swiped his mouth..."
"...tried to (straighten) his now alcohol-smelling..."
Well, I haven't really been reading this one Yvette... I can see it's been my loss now... someone has secret powers and I'm into secret powers! But with or without I just need to remember that you're always a worthy read! I really just need to make the time! :)

I am trying to follow this amazing story, but I feel I am not doing it justice with my drop-in reviews--I am 'glimpsing' the author in the narrative, my friend, and lost in the plot, waiting for the tie-in to the one protagonist I so loved, namely Maggie... Forgive my lack!

"Sipala!" I have chills! I wish I had the whole novel in my hands to read at once. :( I think sometimes that's such a drawback of posting a book here...*sigh* There's so much happening between chapters, so much other reading we do...)

Maggie is the Marguerite that now owns everything that Geoffrey is talking about here. This is just setting up the place that Maggie will find herself shortly... :) ;) ;) If you'd like to do a little back reading, just click on the book in my portfolio and they all 'fall out' in order.... if you have a chance, of course, as I've tried to keep all posts to about this length. :) ;)Thanx for trying! ;) Yvette

Oooooo I like the thunder and the sulphuric to describe angry interaction...Demetrius is one cool dude...intriguing...I like this very much. I've jumped in and it makes it harder to give a fair assessment. Let's just say I like what I've read so far...very well done
God bless

Thanx so much for dropping by, Jenny -- so glad to have you pop in at this point! ;) ;) I'd invite you to do a little back reading in my portfolio if you have a chance as I've tried to keep all posts to about this length. :) ;) And, yeah, Demetrius is certainly my favorite character, bar none! ;) ;) Take care! :) Yvette

A very well-written chapter. After the funeral most of the guests left with heaps of food left. The ones' who stay behind do their own things while some try to socialize and get along.

NS The power just went out again.

Very interesting, intriguing in fact. I have no idea what's going on because I haven't been a regular presence on FS. Maybe preceding the chapter you could give a brief synopsis of the previous chapter, and at the bottom, a little paragraph describing what the whole story is about. I've seen a lot of people here do that. Your characters are and story line are interesting, I'd like to see where this goes!

Synopsis wouldn't be real short here, Carol, but I may give a shot on today's...just A LOT going on, LOL! ;) If you have some 'coffee time' pop into my portfolio to get a better sense of what's going on .... I've tried to limit the posts to about the length of this one give or take... Thanx for dropping by, thought -- I do so appreciate it!! ;) ;) Yvette
