I've met Lemon Tasters! I just didn't know that's what they were! Well, in truth, many of them would be more accurately categorized as a person with a nasty malady that I call "Active Anus Obstruction." That could never be you!
Broke is an amazingly cruel motivator, for sure. I almost agreed to use my voice to shove unnecessary dating packages down lonely men's throats for exorbitant sums of money (them paying, not me getting). But I did get a good story out of it, haha!
You are meant to make a difference (not necessarily at the lemon factory, but the world in general), trust me. Don't lose hope! Everything happens for a reason. Even lemons. They're fantastic chasers for Tequila ;)

Hahahaha. Kerissa, you slay me!! So upbeat and funny. (And it sounds like you made lemons from lemonade by writing a story from a potentially awful experience. So kudos to you!)
I'll have to take your word for the chasers for tequila, as I am the world's cheapest date where alcohol is concerned. After one wine, I giggle too much AND TALK MUCH LOUDER. And my lips slant. So humbling. Tequila would, no doubt, have me face down on the linoleum.

oh my mouth screws up at the thought. Yes, I think you could find another job. Perhaps making pizzas, a cake maker, designing cookies, cooking in a small cafe. I wonder why the job was tasting lemons? Is there a call for that.

What a perfectly written interpretive answer and inspiration to this writing prompt. When one looks sour at one's supposed misfortune, all one needs to say to the folk about the sourpuss face is say. "My job is sucking lemons" well done, a wonderful post. Blessjngs, Roy

I'd like that job! I love bitter lemons. This story is well done, showing how that particular job 'sucked'... looking bitter, the sour look. The complete story fits very naturally into the word count without feeling forced.
