Thank you Sherry. I write what I feel. Sometimes the words flow like water, sometime I hit the rocks and sometimes I hit bottom, but I found out that flowery mushy words have no business in poetry when simple words from the heart are better. Hope Valentine was good for you. :)

Enjoyed the poem. A rather unique valentine's day poem. So your wife saved you from your evil ways --
Enchantment she cast, I changed my ways.
Yesterday is now only in my dreams,
Even when I raise my eyes
She knows what I'm thinking... it seems yes, they always seem to know, don't they?
My wife, she walked the narrow path.
Yet, this devil lured her with a grin --loved both lines. Well done!

This is a good entry into the contest. Good luck.
The poem shows how faith and love can change a life. I like the mix of free verse with rhyme. The artwork illustrates the darkness you write about in your poem.

Your composition as a whole brought a tear to my eye because it is such a lovely thing to see love triumph over all...and that's what this is. Your wife is, indeed, a very lucky lady to have you and wise to hold you to expectations -- your partnership you've written for us here is a shining example of what a true marriage is in the end: two people clinging to each other - providing anchoring when necessary - and always loving and looking for a brighter tomorrow.
