This is very clever. It's not easy to write a poem without using the letters 'A' or 'E', tow of the most common letters in the English language. This is an excellent contest entry and will do well in the voting booth.

Hi, Yvette,

Thank you for sharing this lovely little poem. I can't imagine trying to write poetry with a limitation on the words I use.

I have huge problems with the meter, so I'm glad you had help from Dolly. She is an amazing poet.

Well done, and good luck in the contest,

~MP~

This is a new order nd of poetry to me and one I've never tried. I must say, missing letter didn't prevent a clever poem. I had to chuckle, we had an invisible scamp at our house too, his name was Mr Not Me.

LOL! You're so right -- ours was "Mr. Dunno"! ;) ;) Thanx for the review and the smile, seaglass - always appreciated over here! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend! :) :) Yvette

What a fun poem. And don't we all know these shifty "Mr. Nobodies". There were four of them at our house. Good job on using the rhythm and the E's and A's. I do enjoy challenges, but to keep the rhythm going as you did is masterful.

Thanx so much for your review on this one, Gail -- yeah, all but one of ours has moved out .... although, you know, I'm beginning to think it wasn't always the boys... hmmmm. :) ;) LOL! Appreciate your stopping by -- you're always welcome to stop by anytime...door's always open! ;) ;) Take care and have a wonderful remainder of the week! ;) Yvette

Hello Y.M.,

Well this poem is great fun :) Congratulations on being selected as Author of the Month. I look forward to reading more of your work.

So this lipogram stuff just leaves out some letters? I will have to read the rules and try it sometime. Not for a contest, though. I need to catch my breath from the last contest. I stress too much over them. Obviously this contest isn't author unknown so that helps. I find the secret to be incredibly stressful.

Best wishes in this contest. I think you have a super duper entry.

Joy xx

Yep! You just choose the letter or letters to omit and go to town!! ;) And this is my stress relief from teaching so, my advice is to just don your 'pretend' cap and poeticize away...DO NOT stress...it's supposed to be enjoyable! ;) :) If there are voices here stressing you out, just silence them....your beauty and creativity shines through best when you're relaxed! :) :) Thanx for the warm wishes and for your review on this one, ma'am -- take care and have a great, stress-free evening! ;) ;) Yvette

This retooling of Mr. Nobody, The Lipogramitization of Mr. Nobody, is well done and reinforces what we all know: Something that EVERYBODY knew had to be done, and could have been done by ANYBODY, will likely be taken care of by NOBODY.

Wowzers, Yvette!
I don't even know how you did this! No E's or A's!!!
Absolutely great in every way - Mr Nobody visits my house too - he's a clumsy and mischievous so-and-so in equal measure.
Good luck in the contest!
Best wishes, Debra :)

Wow, Debra! ;) ;) Thank you so much for these lovely stars, ma'am -- you have managed to put a sunshiny smile on a tired teacher's face!! ;) :) I am so very glad you enjoyed this venture into insanity - LOL! ;) This was my favorite poem in elementary school so, when I chose it, I thought: hey, it'll be fun.......then, it became: lady, you are crazy......and, finally: who's idea was this no 'e' or 'a' thing anyway? .... LOL! ;) :) Seriously, though, was quite a challenge so I am so very glad you enjoyed! :) ;) Thanx for the review and for stopping in to sprinkle stars around the place today -- you take care out there and have a great evening! ;) ;)

It's very difficult indeed to write without 'E's or 'A's, so well done in that. I thought unmetered poetry was your "bag" as it were, not all good poets wrote in meter, as its my "bag" I try not to be critical. You're such a goodvallround writer (congrats on recognised writer, very quick, it took me a couple of years) beautifully written based on someone else's poem, a great, rambling odyssey, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

Thanx for the compliments, Roy - it was difficult without the e's and a's (almost a bit off more than I could chew since it took so-o-o-o long!) and Dolly did step in with the proverbial 'Gibbs Slap" [reference NCIS...just look up 'Gibbs Slap' on YouTube] on a few of my lines...LOL! ;) :) Hey! Somebody's gotta keep me 'in meter' ya know! ;) ;) Because, you are SO RIGHT, my friend, about my bag -- I can do challenges once in a while though! :) ;) However, I will try to keep future challenges down below the 'Sanity-Challenging' line! ;) :) And thank you for your 'congrats' -- I am humbled to be on that marquee.....and I have folks like you to thank for your guidance in getting me there! ;) :) Thank you for everything, sir! ;) Yvette

Wow, Susan! ;) You are too awesome, ma'am! ;) ;) I'm so thankful for those stars .... but I have to wonder if they were worth my sanity - LOL! :) This was a challenge that I will not be undertaking again any time soon -- unless I have the right state of mind to choose something smaller...:) ;) But, I'm just one of those crazy people that digs in and won't quit until a job's finished...but YIKES! :) ;) :) Thanx for stopping by and for those lovely stars -- you have a wonderful evening out there! ;) :) Yvette

Hi Yvette,

Ha ha ha - good one!

Delightful read and the image complements your verse well. Adorable!

As always, my friend, there is nothing amiss here for me to suggest improving upon.

A great contest entry -- good luck in the voting booth! :-)

Thanx so much for stopping in on this one, Jan -- if I ever want to go completely insane I will enter another contest like this one...as it stands right now, I'm only just above my usual 'Blonde' on the loopy meter! ;) ;) I used to love that poem, now I just might knock it down on the list a notch or two - LOL! ;) :) You take care up Mem-way and have a great evening! ;) Yvette
