I loved the line about how there would be no happily ever after if he were not there. It's perfect. I feel the same with my husband and I wish that every man and woman can feel this. It's the best feeling. I wish you best in the next twenty years together.

Thank you. And couldn't agree more: If everybody had good relationships with their spouses/significant others, I think there'd be way less hate speech. If you're happy when you start and end your day, I have to imagine that there would probably be more generosity in your spirit throughout the remaining hours.
Thank you for your generous rating, too. I appreciate it very much.

Beautiful heartfelt poem knowing you have your forever love - Valentines Day is a perfect way to share in a poem that the one you love and cherish is in your heart - writing a poem is much better then giving a halmark card or candy - in my opinion anyway - thanks for sharing ~~Ron

Thank you for these warm, true words, Ron....though just to hedge my bets, I AM still going to bestow some candy today.
I appreciate your generous five-star review. xo

Very sweet and endearing poem. It feels honest and real. What a good use of a Valentine's Day for a lifetime. Good sentiment and well written. Enjoyed the simplicity with the big message.

This is lovely, I'll bet he loved it too. You created a very sweet valentine's poem here, followed the rules and put a lot of emotion in it. Best of luck in the contest.

Nice poem, it reminds me of a rocking chair my in-laws gave to me, the year my son was born, we lost touch. Busy lives. But, the rocking chair survived ,four children. As college arrived, my dad misplaced it. The mailman replaced it, with a scrapbook of lives, now they sit and brag, about a rocking chair. And a lifetime of caring. Well written. Love, through miles, tells the heart, life is just a little while. Beautiful poem, and expression of love. Happiness.

What a lovely vignette that is! I like that you associated this poem with it, coffeeandink!
Thank you for the five-star rating; I appreciated that, as well. xo

Such a sweet little poem clearly for the one you love! Everyone has their quirks and I like that you point out that that is one of the things you love. Great job with this!

The good news, Green Jello, is that he loves me in spite of MINE, too. (Have you seen my poem for the Rainbow contest? It's entitled Color Coordination. Read it, and you'll understand what I mean. lol)
Anyway, thank you for terrific review and for the high rating. I appreciate both very much. xo

Lol I did! I voted for you!

Wow, really?! THANK YOU!!! xo

Of course! It was my favorite!!

You sweet talker, you!! Thank you.
I loved the one that won, though, didn't you? The message was great, and the visual was really special.

"My Handsome Bobby", is an exceptionally well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is definitely a six, unfortunately I only have fives left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Rachelle--
Nicely done. The rhymes work and are not obnoxious -- my biggest complaint against them, rhymes in general. Thanks. I hope it is true. Really hard to know from any point in a relationship...yes?

Jeff - I have the EXACT same issue with poems - when words that people would NEVER speak in Real Life get used so that they rhyme. Oy. Kill me now.
In answer to your question, yes, it is true these feelings I still have twenty years later for my sweet Bobby. And, best of all (at the risk of nauseating you...), he honestly does reciprocate them. He is good to me every single day.
Thank you for that super generous rating; I couldn't appreciate it more!

Hi, mystery person, Rachelle. (I noticed the line on the right, serving as your profile, indicates you're a he).
Your poem is a worthy entry to the Valentine contest. Good luck!

I know! I saw that, too, Don! How do I go about changing that; do you have any idea? It makes me giggle every time I see it!
Thank you for that very generous rating and the encouraging about the contest entry. You've made me feel very happy tonight. xo

You're very welcome, Rachelle. It's an easy fix.
