This little poem is a gem, your words sparkling as well as the stars. The picture and poem are definitely frameable , as a reminder of life's perfection. Good luck in the contest.

Lovely poem! "Jeweled opulence" is such a rich description of the stunning sight of stars in the night sky. They really do look like they "pierce" the darkness. Well done.

This so pretty! You are a genius at mixing verse and artwork. I love those trees reaching into the stars. Makes me think of something in Tiffany's window, costing a fool's fortune. I see this is for competition and I wish you the very best of luck!!

my favored personal style is your 5-7-5.

I strive to achieve your level of writing the same.

especially like phrase/words

stars pierce ...
m-letter alliteration
last line - great imagery

blue is an appropriate background color for your FS post

Illustration superbly complements your verse - a starry vision for my viewpoint

good luck in contest

Hi Jm,

This little 5-7-5 poem brings a lovely image to mind of watching the night sky in the warmer summer months. Sadly, we are in a deep freeze here. Heavy sigh... Thank you for his moment of warmth from memories.

Best wishes in this contest.

Joy xx

You are describing a magnificent scene on a starry night. I really like your third line, but there are two words far overused in poetry--BEAUTIFUL and MAJESTIC.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Thank you Rod for your review. I guess I thought that third line would carry it along. I was going to use "towering" but went with majestic to get the alliteration.

Beautiful poem. Short but sweet. I enjoyed reading it. Great picture too. So much life in this poem. Stars are so pretty at night, especially through the pines.
Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

JMF: stars do shine brighter outdoors. The Boulder mountains are
beautiful day and night. My family likes hiking in this area. They help
me with research for my novels - True Colors.

I like your punch line of jeweled opulence and your stunning photo.
Blessings for you.

Thank you Nancy for your thoughtful review. I'm sure the Boulder mountains are spectacular. We live in the Appalachian mountains near the Great Smokies. Lots of inspiration in both places - for sure.

This was a good read, JMF 4119. I must say the picture you used was absolutely beautiful... and your words matched them nicely. Good job and good luck in the contest.
