Wow, talk about evoking imagery! This is fabulous, my friend, and I sure want to see what beats it, if anything does! Absolutely stunning. You have taken this tiny form to new heights, IMHO.

Hello :)
This is a well crafted 5-7-5.
Sound syllable count and lovely alliteration in line 2.
I love your final line. It's a perfect conclusion of the imagery in lines 1&2.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

Opulent splendor indeed, Janet.
Stars shine brightest when the sky is at its darkest hour.
Few things in nature are more awe-inspiring to me than a velvety black sky filled with billions of twinkling pinpoints of light.
A beautifully worded short entry for the contest.
My very best to you...

Absolutely beautiful! A song you may enjoy, Annie's song by John. Going home, May seem a beautiful journey, however, like your last word. That's right as your title reads. Beautiful poem.

I picture myself laying on my back staring at the heavens through those majestic pines and seeing the stars imbedded against the black sky.
Great conclusion with "jeweled opulence".
Best of luck in the contest... john

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. The stars in the sky at night is always one of the main attractions of the skies at night the wonder of the shiny bright dots so far away.
