Fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed. This was one very unnerving chapter! I could feel Veronica's angst and fury and frustration. Hopefully, it has not been for nothing!! xo

I'm so pleased this chapter came over the way I wanted it to, thank you, Rachelle! I'm editing at the moment, a job I hate. :( Let's make a date for our face to face chat. I'm here every afternoon. If I said, 3pm my time, or later, let me know if that will be alright for you. xxx

This chapter shows a lot about Veronica. She is compassionate and can think of ways out of a situation even with fear and anger pushing through. It also shows luck is a big help sometimes. We all hope she is in time to save them.

Keep writing

Great work as always! In the eighth paragraph I might restructure this sentence:

An angry cuss escaped his lips.
"Why can't people put things back properly?" the man grumbled as he bent to pick them up.

Looking forward to reading more, have a great day.

I like the way Veronica tackles this problem. With some cursing and determination, she gets both doors open. The question is what's going to greet her on the other side of the door to the hospital passage?
Another great heart-stopping chapter of suspense.

Poor Veronica - just when she thinks she's winning the battle, another hurdle gets thrown in her face. Of course Mildred and all the staff and patients will be okay, won't they? Yikes, if they're not, your readers will be up in arms!

I can't wait to find out.

Thank you so much, Alexis, for the wonderful 6 stars, and the fabulous review. I'm delighted you are still enjoying Veronica and Mildred's journey into the past. We will see what's behind the door next time ... will it be good? or will it be a tragedy? Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Please let everyone be okay! I'm glad Veronica found a way to open the doors. Now we have to hope that she got them open in time. It has to be terrifying to be stuck in that situation.

I'm editing the next part now, so you'll soon find out! LOL. Thank you so much for your lovely review. I didn't realise that most people in fires die from the smoke. If I was trapped in a fire, I think I'd prefer the smoke to the flames. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

The smoke is far more dangerous than people realise. Most people die of smoke inhalation than from the flames themselves.

Very nice tension built up in this instalment. the emotions come across very well indeed.

I cried out as I ran along the corridor, the scissors still clutched in my hand. - doesn't she know you should never run with scissors? Don't let the kids read this... serve her right if they were all dea...

LOL!!! I don't think she could hurt herself with the scissors. But, I will put an X rated warning on the front of the book so as young children under the age of 20, and over the age of 30 can't read it! LOL!!! Thank you so much, my friend, for this lovely review! :)) Sandra xxx

I really liked the part where she is pushing things over, and especially liked the chalk episodes... LOL Great writing!!

"Bloody hell! If you're looking down, I'm telling you now, don't you ever show your sorry faces to me!" --LOVED this! Made me laugh.

Fun chapter. I liked the humor in it. :)

Hello Sandra,
Just like a woman to panic. Whoops, I didn't say that. Must of been Mr Edwards or one of the jittery tailors. I think they are invisible time travelers.
This is an excellent chapter of frustration and anger. I suspect The Powers were just smiling.
Too bad there wasn't a small oil can for the sewing machines so Veronica could place a few drops of oil to aid in moving the bolt. (like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz)
Nice tease at the end
Well done
Robert

Thank you, Robert, for another of your fun reviews. I think it was the men that panicked, running away from a little piece of chalk!!! LOL!!! We'll brush over the fact it was flying on its own. :))
Yes, that was a bit short-sighted of Veronica not to have looked for some oil, but I think she was in such a temper, reason flew out the window. And I'm sure the Powers were smiling. We'll soon find out.
Thank you also for the lovely shiny stars, my friend, I really appreciate both review and the stars.
    Big hugs, Sandra xx
