You have written a very meaningful verse that you have imbued with soulful musings and ancient lore. Good job on the presentation and descriptions used to craft this fine poem. Well done.

Wonderfully written. I really enjoyed reading this piece and your imagery and flow were great. Your word choices and subject matter tied it all together. Well done.

This poem, Native Tears, brings a new energy to the quest of knowing, preserving, and promoting the culture of Native American history, mythology, and core values.

This free style poem moves smoothly. I can imagine it being spoken with drum beat and native voices behind in the background. So many wrongs can not be erased but must be remembered. The artwork caught my attention as well.

I link your drum circle to the "Covington" whatever. I would really like to know the full story there, and how the event got colored with suspicion, defiance and fear.
I think the third, abusive group threw both students and Native Americans into a wrong place wrong time scene. Once the media gets hold of anything, forget truth...
easy part: excellent poem.

Very powerful in many ways. Assimilation destroys with the hope of false rebirth. What would be your true native name? Makes the reader think. Thanks for sharing and keep writing and reading.

Even a drum circle of one can protest powerfully, as evidenced by this gem of perfection. "And somewhere our grandfather's weeping, but not for the teachings forgot..." Yes, and STILL.

I saw
through the tears
of that traitor,
fear
and the eye of a storm......fear is a traitor...it is great how you personified it

I like the Indian references...shaman ...sage..burning sweet grass..drum circle
God bless

Hi Clockwise! That was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed reading it. It has a nice steady rhythm and was almost musical to read. A very nice write. :)
