Hello Clockwise,
It's a nice piece of Commentary and Philosophy Poetry having smooth flow, matching the theme phraseology, and beautifully depicting its theme.
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
"...he cries
for the souls
of the sleeping,
and those who are woke
but speak not."

Clockwise,

Am very interested in this poem, this story.

I've just posted 'The Field of Pigs' as a satire re the land grab from Native Indians and other aboriginal peoples.

Also, I think most original tribes in the Americas and Australia would never have allowed the desecration of the planet, had they been consulted. After all, they have to live in the natural environment and make a living off it.

So may I ask, is the history of the Native Indians a subject in which you specialise?

I am completely new to this.

Today I began doing some research on their spirituality. That is of most interest to me at the moment.

Thanks,

Richard.

This is a very heartfelt story about what the white man did to the Native American way of life. I like the artwork. The words grandfather crying reminds me of the commercial with the Indian chief crying.

Keep writing

I love this in many aspects: the presentation including illustration, text and background color, the unique rhyme scheme, and a focused message. The third line of the last stanza might need another syllable, but other than that, this was one of the best poems I've read today. Thank you for sharing!

This speaks a very telling story of the feelings this Native American is feeling and the aloneness that is emitted is clear in the writing. Nice job. Very emotional.

Strong poem about a person caught by fear. It seems to be a poem about human relationships and how they are affected by culture and class. Strong work. I enjoyed the connection to the artwork.

This is a good poem that a native might write. But from your image I see a white man that the native might be writing about. It does have a native feel to it and expresses much of the pain. There is injustice everywhere but I too feel the natives have been repressed.

Your poem is full of history, so rich, and of deception which attempts to ruin the foundation of a people. But there is strength that promotes forward thinking and remains in the face of adversity.
