Good evening to you, Tom

How's the book coming along? I hear you have been pretty busy.

I read this yesterday and wanted to have a wee think about what to say.

First of all in your notes. The term 'pudding' is just so sweet a description for little butterflies to dip their toes in and sup up all the minerals :)

I don t recall ever seeing this particular style of poetry before but looks like you have adhered to Catskills skills to a 't'

They are indeed quite beautiful these swallowtails and you have certainly captured their essence in this splendid poem.

Given a choice out of Mamankanois or butterfly, I think butterfly is such a beautiful word and suits it so well

lovely to see you again, Tom.

Hope you and wifey are okay and her poor ole back isn t playing up too much.

much love

Hi Tracey. It is goods to see you are still here as well. Thanks you there great review sentiments. That post of yours is the first on I've seen of you work this year. Still working on the big book of formats. Published my book of Sonnets in 2018. Sent an illustrated children's book to publisher's, but none have accepted it yet. My book of Animated stills is about ready. Not getting rich, though from the 4 book I have published. My has been hospitalized 4 times in last 8 months for her back. She currently in a transitional care unit receiving IV antibiotics twice daily for 6 -8 week. She was diagnosed with Osteo Myelitis, which is an infection in the bone of her spine.

    How are you doing?

    Hi there, Tom

Lovely to hear from you :)

Yup, I'm still knocking about here on the site. Like many others, I suffer from the ole writer's blockage every now and again and consequently haven't been about much.

I very much enjoyed your lovely poem about the swallowtails. you certainly bring your subject to life and also of course, invariably photograph them all too!

You clever little wunny baddit you.

So how can I get a copy of your book of sonnets and the illustrated children's book?

I have a five-year-old granddaughter who is book mad.

I have never been good enough to publish, but I've heard it can be somewhat time-consuming and difficult sometimes. I hope you succeed with the children's book. You can never have enough books for kids :)

Oh, the poor girl :( I am sorry Tom. I'm not a religious person as I think you know, but I'll be thinking of her during this rotten time.

    As for me, well...

I'm off to Malaga/Spain in March. We are also being driven to Seville as a treat for looking after a friends dog this year. Lucky us, eh! :)

I don't know if I ever told you, but I have an eye for interior design, and so I've been turning my home into a cross between a medieval cottage and a French chateau. lol
I make things out of junk :)

Aside from that, not a lot really. Hubby is still painting away and doing well with his art. So all good on the western front so far.

Well, it's lovely to know your still here too, Tom.

please let me know about the books.

    much love

My published books are out on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Just Google Thomas G Reischel. The Children's book hasn't been published yet, so all I have is the draft. If you want that. Send me you eMail address, and I'll send it that way.

Treischel--
I really appreciate the information on the tiger swallowtail, the "puddling" which I have seen them do in considerable numbers -- never knew what to call it. I appreciate the Catskill and its source. I have some trouble with the archaic contractions, words you use -- maybe they help some to realize they are reading a poem, not me.

Thanks, enjoyed it.

Thank you Wabigoon. I appreciate you reviews and comments. Glad you liked the photograph and the format. I would point out that I didn't use the word 'Tis and 'rwas for the sake of contraction, but to add a touch of Elizabethan flavor to it. I thought it would seem more Shakespearean. Maybe I should have added a "verily" or a "forsooth".

What does the tiger swallowtail have to do with those poetic forms? Nothing! Be brave, "modern," create a form for now. Tiger swallowtails are NOT Shakespearean. You are!

Thank you for demonstrating the Catskill form and teaching us about the Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. I especially enjoyed your comparisons to Michael Angelo's work and Rorscarch tests. Cheers- Joan

A very well-written catskill poem and a wonderful description of the tiger swallowtail butterfly that is unique to certain areas and is a good artistic marking on its wings.

Thank you Sandra. Yes they are mostly North America. So there aren't any in South Africa. Glad you liked it.

I am Cat would be proud of you, Tom and I am sure she would forgive your trochaic first and third lines. It either had to be that way or go for an eleven syllable iambic line with a feminine ending. that poor old Italian paiter is felling a bit wrenched trying to rhyme with yellow and fellow.

Truly a beautiful creature though.
