I am confused.
Why, initially, is Ms. O'laydee on the floor? Did she and the cat just switch?
How does a middle-aged man figure in? Where is he?

Just a quick story, hardly worth explaining.

Okay, this was just weird but very funny in its own right...sounds like one of the insane things my mind might dream up! But 'middle finger' and 'old lady' ....now that just makes it funny! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette

Okay, now that is just freaky. Obviously we are dealing with one beaing who has the ability to jump from one body to another at will. Also has the power to command humans around him or her, and can make phone calls to have other subservient beings delivered with the blink of an eye or twitch of a nose. Amazing.

I understood it perfectly and kept up with who's who. What does that say about me? LOL. I don't see this going anywhere because they'd just be changing from one body to the next.

Love the names. You're very creative with names.

This is a very interesting post and short story you have penned. I read it through twice and to me it seems the cats are the main things in the story. But then again it seems the woman was the one changing things and bodies. Not sure anymore~lol Teri

Clever write - has to be read over to get all the nuances...but I just woke up so what do I know. Would make a great Twilight Zone episode. Love the names you gave everyone. Your mind is a blender churning out literary delights.

Thanks, OP. I revised it twice before your reading this morning, so it may need another.

Oh dear, deja vu! Another inventive story with some mystic happenings here Bill, but still the dialogue is natural and believable! Those pesky cats can get under your skin! He he he, love Dolly x

So Ms. O'laydee became a middle-aged man (a younger Mr. Mittlefinka). The cat became the Old Man, Mr. Mittlefinka, and now they need a temp young man so Mr. Mittlefinka (a.k.a. the cat) can become younger. Now the cat on his desk is enchanted so when the next secretary (catalyst) shows...we start again; only this time, with Mr. Mittlefinka on the floor since he's the lucky one. Each time the cat body dies, the enchanted being jumps into another cat, or the enchanted dead cat body regenerates inside trash liners by itself or with the help of the now Ms. O.laydee (a.k.a. a younger Mr. Mittlefinka). I THINK! Wow, did this story have the brain in overdrive! Love the photo.

I think you have it right. Let me see. Mittlefinka goes into the cat, the cat goes into Ms, O?laydee, she goes into Mittlefinka, and the goes to the landfill. O?laydee leaves to do whatever, Mittlefinka calls for a new secretary to probably move into later, and another cat appears. There we go. Simple.

Mr. Mittlefinka (Middle finger) ya' say, Bill?
Haha, ohhhhh, that's gooooood... heh-heh...

Looking at the cat and man, she walked around the desk and picked the feline up by the nap nape of its neck. ... I believe you meant "nape" of its neck here, Bill...

Your story seemed perfectly acceptable to me, Bill.
I had no trouble whatsoever following who was saying what to whom and when even without the speech tags.
Good stuff!

Yeah I think the story is confusing without the tags. The plot is fine, the characters are a little mixed up. I think I got the gist but I'd m not quite sure. Very nice job.
