It's still January 1st. HERE

Well, phooey, I must say, I haven't a gift
to ring in YOUR new year, so I'll set adrift
my wish that your handsel will serve just as verse.
Oh curses, that's selfish! I'll have to rehearse
and find were my muse hid my pen and my rhyme...
Whew! Found it, thank heavens, and it's still on time. :)))

Haha, thanks so much, Dawn. Not only is it still January 1 there, some would say it's still 1987 there! Not me, because I'm not rude ;- ) And certainly not after receiving such a lovely gift :)

Happy New Year to you and Miss Prissy.

Well, well, this past year has certainly gone by in a flash. It seems like yesterday that you started this book.

Applause and six stars for writing a poem a day for the entire year, and for making all of your readers a little smarter each day. Much appreciation to you for that, Craig! I have loved reading your poems (not that I was able to read all of them ... my bad!)

'Handsel' is the perfect word for you to finish off the year with. Great job!

Cheers & Happy New Year!

Connie

This makes me so sad. Can't you find another book of treasured words? I joined FanStory last January and your posts have been one of my favorites. I look so forward to them. I count myself lucky to have been present almost at the outset.

I look forward to your posts next year. I am sure that you will keep it fresh and continue to entertain.

I have seen handsel in print once or twice, but didn't catch the new year part...yes, good idea, the sharing of unusual words, in my way of thinking. I don't know, the sand in my well of inspiration is scarcely damp anymore...happy new year.

Uh oh! What did you do with the book and how did you put an end to it friend, Craig? Hmmmm? lol

Super job in completing the entire year. I still remember the first poems everyone put out, and the reviews too. :)

Great job and worthy of a six star. :)

Gloria

It ran out of steam (words), so it expired due to natural causes, Gloria :)

Thanks so much for the lovely comments and great rating, Gloria. And congratulations on your outstanding achievement!

    Cheers,

It has definitely been a wild ride this year, hasn't it, Craig?
Having been ill and in the hospital for much of it, I wasn't always able to contribute as much as I would have liked to.
I certainly enjoyed each and every poem of yours I read and review.
Here's to another great year in 2019.

Congratulations for finishing what you started out to do, Craig. In the process, you educated us in such a delightful and creative manner. Thanks for the handsel. I guess the quaaltagh is the one to bring the handsel?
