Hi Bill. If you have potatoes which will make themselves into French fries and lie on my couch, I want some! Is a fat potato really fat? Big but not fat. Very clever little poem. I am trying to imagine the google search for that image. Maybe "two potatoes on a couch". Or "couch potatoes ". Which came first the image or the poem? Thank you for sharing

Thanks, Pam. I actually randomly chose the subject ?potato? and searched for an image. When the pair on the couch appeared, I wrote the poem.

How did you find a picture of two potatoes that looked like Beavis and Butthead. Getting smashed and fried on the couch also reminds me of them too. Nice job.

This is clever. You could also call it a senyru. Great fun with smashed and fried. I like twice baked myself. Perfect closing line, "davenport duo." An excellent description of the two couch potato heads. I love the artwork, and the potatoes in it look liked they smashed and fried. judi

From what I have learned from eavesdropping on some of todays young people, the couch is a very good place for smashing and getting smashed. The bed is still the best place, but as an alternative, the couch is not too bad. Oh wait, was that what you were talking about?

Clever names and play on words. These must be the original couch potatoes. lol. Good alliteration with the davenport duo. Everyone used to say 'davenport.' No one does much anymore. Good to hear it again.

Okay, I get it.
In order to make this a 5-7-5 you had to use the word "sofa" instead of "couch".
However, in my humble opinion, you could have just as easily written:
Le' couch potatoes
get french fried on the sofa
davenport duo
Heh-heh-heh...
