I'm so pleased your math headache has gone now. Did you know we call it maths, with the 's'? Just a little tidbit to file away in your foreign file. :)) Yes, Charles won't get away with all the nasty things he's done to Gladys. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying my book. You're just a wonderful friend. I tried to give you another thumbs up but I can't yet as I've already given you one for this month. :( Soon! xxxxx

Yes! I did know that because of some books I've read with British characters. It's hard enough singular! It should NOT be plural!

Oh, yes, I'm glad you didn't miss this one, you would have wondered what on earth was going on had you gone to the next part without this one. Now, I don't remember Columbo leaving hints, you knew he had sussed something out, but he played his cards close to his chest. I used to love how he would get to the door, and then turn around as if he had forgotten something, lol, that always caught them out.

I asked Graham if he knew who I was, he said he thought I was an attachment to the table!!! LOL You are both cheeky!! But, you're right, I am going to ease off when this book is finished. I plan on writing more books for Eric and taking my time over them. And, I'm going to write some poetry too. I haven't written any in a long while.

Did you get to the next part? I want to know what you think of it. :)) I'm so pleased John is improving and the hole has been sorted. Bless him, he had an angel at his side all the time, you are amazing. Love you lots, my wonderful friend. :)) Sandra xxxx

Hi You, LOL...see you are just like Columbo...you get right to the ending...you open the door...you wave to us...and you turn away without a hint...sigh...you just have to love man(Graham)...LOL...I am so glad you are writing other books for Eric...I can hardly wait....how did he like his gift ????...wish I could have seen his face...you are an angel sweet girl...what you are doing to help Eric is amazing...think of when he has kids...and he shows them published books about him...when by their great grandmother...it doesn't get better than that...soooooo welcome you little chip of oak...the corner of the table...LOL...love you muchhhhhhh my sweetest friend...Linda xxoo

    Hi to Ian for me...xxoo

Wow, this is a humdinger of a chapter - so many things coming together. I like the idea of the joint investigation between James and Veronica. A fresh pair of eyes sometimes makes all the difference. The dialogue between them is wonderfully natural. A combination of internet search and old letters seems to have turned up trumps. Different approaches by the different generations.
I think that I must have missed the last chapter, so will have to go back and read it to get up to speed.

Hello Sandra,
Another excellent thread in the tangled web of the past.

My, my. Now you are really getting heavy. Mildred has to kill somebody.
Perhaps the same objective can be achieved with a lesser action.

Killing Pembrock (or whoever the target is) could have dire unintended consequences,
unless history already recorded his death at that time.

Time is quite complicated.

I wonder if the Powers that Be celebrate Christmas.

Robert

Thank you for another wonderful review, Robert, and a humongous hug for the lovely stars. Do the Powers celebrate Christmas, now, that is something I don't know. I'll have to ask Mildred, she might know! lol. Have a wonderful Christmas my friend. Big hugs. Sandra xxxx

-A good chapter that flows very well
from beginning to end, Sandra.
-James is very involved in trying to
help Ver. figure out the historical
aspect of Mildred's situation.
-An excellent job of mixing historical
fact with the character's reactions.
-The mention of the hospital where Mildred
had been working piques James's interest.
-He figures that whatever she is doing, it
doesn't bode well for her the way things are now.
-Having James ask Ver. about his grandfather's
letters is a good way to introduce the
topic for the end of the chapter.
-You did an excellent job of showing
James's emotion as he read the letter,
and also providing the content of it.
-You definitely leave us with
a big cliffhanger at the end!

Well, that really would be a turn-up for the books. Awesome addition.

but the raid went on for hours, and not only did it kill and injure hundreds of people, it devastated the city. - need closing speech marks here.

that family we talked about so often--" - the closing speech marks here have become inverted.

Best place tom stop ever....

Hi, Sandra. This is a well-written chapter. I do not review with looking form punctuation errors. Rather ai review to see how well the stories are coming along . I admiree your style, too.

Just tjhought i'd let you know that. LOL

Your images are very very well done. like this: I can picture it thanks to your talented pen.

" I grabbed the letter from James and started to read it, my hands shaking as I did. It was dated the 26th of April 1916, just one week before the newspaper Mildred had shown me said the Germans had declared victory--and three days before the internet said the battle of Jutland took place. After I'd read the last paragraph for a second time, I slumped down on the sofa with the letter still clutched in my hand."

Greart hook at the end too, my friend. Happy Holidays. Bob

Hi, Sandra,

This is such an intricate chapter, and the conclusion gave me goosebumps. To realize that the only way to fulfill your mission is to kill someone is a horrible feeling. Despite knowing that things could forever be changed, killing another human being is VERY difficult for a good person.

I anxiously await the next chapter,

~patty~
