Calm in the middle of NYC...now that is a feat in itself ;o)
Pigeons are so often seen as a nuisance, it's refreshing to have someone that can see the beauty of these little creatures.
Very nicely written, mermaids.

I can relate to this poem. Some days if I was feeling really ragged round the edges, I would go to the Botanic Gardens and feed the ducks. With the sound of that"Eyoong" the gate made the world would fade away and I'd make my way through the lawns and shady trees to my special spot. I'd sit there and watch the birds. Pigeons, ducks, sparrows, magpies and other flitting flying creatures.Somehow they always "knitted
up my sleeve of care" and I would go on my way with a happier frame of mind.A white pigeon is a rare creature, as they usually have different colored markings. Perhaps it was sent to brighten your mood. I have only been to New York once more than 20 years ago, and I found it totally overwhelming. Mind you, I'd jump at the chance to go back, but alas, my travelling far field days are over. and thereby hangs a tale. For another day, another time. cheers Cass

This speaks, as the poet feels better, as a white pigeon, an angel of peace, came on her eve of Christmas with peace; well said, well done. Keep Writing, Keep Inspiring -- DR ALCREATOR

Lovely! The white pigeon, an angelic being is present on the night Jesus was born. Your poem is expressive, inspiring and comforting. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed reading your poem. The words flowed nicely and the rhyming words you chose had a nice rhythm as they described the bird. I liked your inspiration for writing it.

Did you take that picture? That is the most unusual white pigeon I have ever seen? It has curly feathers? I feel the same when I see birds, butterflies or bees, I feel uplifted immediately, your words resonated with me, love Dolly x

What a lovely verse to showcase the white pigeon with curly feathers. You give her angelic qualities and deem her with the ability to give peace. This is a fantastical write and well done.

This is wonderful. When a poem can make my mind's eye see what the poet sees I always feel fortunate. As the New York bird made you feel better, your words will make many feel the same.

I love days when something simple and out of the ordinary can change our whole outlook and provide us with some comfort. Your story is sweet and inspiring. A white pigeon can make all the difference. :)
