Christmas started its downhill slide when they replaced "Christ" with the letter "X". This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very inspirational read.

What a very heartfelt message to share. I loved your lines, "you are not alone...behind closed doors." Christmas is so bittersweet--it heightens all of our emotions, joy and sorrow. Lots of love and prayers for your family this Christmas. :) Thinking of you.

My thoughts are with you and your husband as you face this challenging time and his fight with lung cancer. I am glad you are focusing on the happy memories you have made together, and I hope the New Year will bring renewed hope. Continue to be strong and take good care of yourself. Warm regards- Joan

I understand what you are saying, Barb. If I had been a member of FS when Jim was dying I think it would have helped because it helped me relieve the depression I felt in the aftermath. I felt as though I was holding my breath the entire three months and if I took a breath he would be lost to me forever. I didn't want to let him go. God Bless you and your family. Just remember that Christ died so we could all live on and be together in the here-after. Merry Christmas Dear. Love Nancy:) xxx

Well my dear Country Ranch Writer you are not alone here on FanStory or in life. Every Christmas seems took take on a new meaning but what Christmas actually is sustains me. I read, "A Christmas Carol" every year without fail just to remind me of what is important and what is not. Focus on your moments with your precious husband and family and your celebrations together. I have lost many to lung cancer--my mother and oldest brother. My dad to alcoholism. My landscape continues to change where people are concerned. Keep Christmas in your heart and cherish it always. It will sustain you as God and Christ are the spirits within. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Hello, again dear friend. This is a well-written very emotional piece about the dwindling spirit of Christmas. One I'm sure many can relate to. I admire you for being able to keep your chin up, make the most of your situation. You definitely are strong, a true survivor. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband this holiday season.

A very well-written story about the magic of Christmas. For me it is the togetherness of friends and families. Many people do not know it may be the last Christmas they spend together. Make the best of the day and make as many memories for future remembrance.

Merry Christmas to you and your family too.

My heart goes out to you in your time of unhappiness. Your problems are real and putting on a happy face has to take a lot out of you when it is much emotional and physical sorrow your family is facing. God bless you and yours.

Hello CRW. Wow. Part of me is at a loss for words. I can't imagine going through what you're facing. May God give you strength to cope and courage to remain strong. If your husband can have a smile, smile and beam along side him.

How many years have you two been married?
