This poem gave me pause. I love to read these short entries to see what they can say in 17 syllables.
Your title got my attention, then I will be thinking about your words all day. You see, I love reading. The writing that I do is really just a sort of payback from my hours of pleasure reading. I have no stories in my head. I have the ability to write an excellent book, but no story in my head.
I am so envious of you. I can't even imagine entertaining myself with my imagination. I've heard J. K. Rowling say that she had the entire Harry Potter series in her head before she wrote it. As your title says, you and the J. K. Rowling types are the true writer. Your imagination feeds you while mine is hungry.
Your poem confirms that I will never run out of reading material. There are writers out there.
Good job and good luck in the competition.

No you are not alone, I do exactly the same thing. I am an only child - not sure if you are, but that is what I have done from a very young age as means to amuse myself. I also can build a character based off of a concept - maybe one of these days when there is a partner writing competition if you want to team up - you might be a good person to possibly story board with - I don't know just throwing it out there. I really like this entry for the 5-7-5 contest. And the only reason I know it is yours is: you were giving me a review and I went to your profile. I can't even remember if I am entered or not. I did so many so soon - that I can't keep them all straight. But I am wishing you luck in the competition regardless if I am competing against you or not. I really appreciate that you took the time to write such a long and detailed review, probably the longest one that I have ever received. Thank you so much. I was not an only child, I have a younger brother but spent a lot of time on my own as a kid. I don't know whether that is the reason for continually daydreaming or whatever you want to call it but sometimes I fInd it hard to decipher which is reality. I love these writing prompts and I love open mikes as my favourite writing genre is comedy. I have never heard of story board, perhaps an American term. Thanks again and take care. Jen. X

This is a good entry for the 5-7-5 contest. I like your evaluation of your own interests. I, too, like to imagine stories and how they would flow. I use a lot of those imaginings in my poetry too. Great job and good luck.

I understand what you mean, we still read... but because we make up our own stories sometimes we may even not be satisfied and modify the story ourselves. Its a curse and a gift really, as for me, if I don't write an idea down immediately, its gone as quickly as it came, and I tend to have my head in the clouds 90% of the time.

Yes I think I can. But surely the stories you end up writing - you say you are a writer - all started privately inside your head. If I can keep myself awake with my thoughts then they are probably worth sharing. If I bore myself to sleep then I had better forget that one.

Thanks, point taken. I have written for a job most of my life but now it is just a hobby so I can't be bothered writing a lot of things down, mainly just short poems.
