I absolutely loved this Yvette!!! Did you ever write textbooks? If you didn't you probably should, there's a fortune in it and you certainly have the knowledge! My dad wrote a math book that actually paid him royalties for 15 years after he retired and he wrote it when I was a child. Some things just don't change! You're fantasy is awesome too though. You're so lucky, you got both sides of your brain!!! LOL Susan

Hey Susan -- I'm glad to have both sides of brain, too! LOL! LOL!! ;) ;) Thanx so much for the lovely review, ma'am -- and, no, no textbooks...not sure nowadays if I could include the amount of hand-holding and ego-stroking that the kids seek such that my books would even be acceptable -- LOL! :) Your words of encouragement are very appreciated ... be sure to drop by any time! :) ;) Have a great weekend -- Yvette :)

Oh Yvette!
Kudos!
What a creative romp filled with energy and fun! I have read so many morose offering this evening - and some that are just vulgar. But this offering is just a smile waiting to be found. A winner in my world; that is for certain! So glad I found it! Thank you for sharing!

Thanx so much for your wonderful review, Diane! :) ;) You know, I had so much fun writing this one and I think it was just as much fun to get it formatted just like the rainbow I had imagined as I wrote it! :) ;) You know me and my insane fantasy' way of looking at things sometimes -- it's kindof my very own anti-morose barrier (cuz, like you say, there's A LOT of morose and, I would add, gory and even borderline sociopathic/disgusting out there recently)! :) ;) You be sure to have a wonderful weekend up there, ma'am! ;) ;) Yvette

The presentation and poem are extraordinary, in their beauty and their depth. The artwork; black background with multi-colored lettering, swirling throughout the page; and ending with capital lettering of every color in the rainbow, the words, "Your Imagination." So beautiful, as well as, very well written. The alliteration, the rhyme scheme, the flow, and the content are all exceptional. This is a very creative way to use the "I Can't" commentary with your own special version. This is entertaining and thought-provoking at the same time. Thank you for sharing your unique point of view.
Take care, Jesse

    Hi Yvette
Yes, it was wonderful, and so 'you'! I do take time with my reviews. I may not win awards for quantity but the ones I review, I give my all to. Yours are always worth more than a 'hit and run' review. You take care, too. I will be chasing rainbows in my mind and spirit to help chase the blues away. Enjoy your weekend!

It's wonderful what the imagination of mankind has dreamed up over the years, and embedded in the folklore and fairy tales that sustain a belief in things beyond oneself. I like the humorous, whimsical approach here, which is so much in tune with the subject.

This poem (that shall not be named) is a nice exercise in rhyme, meter, and imagination. I want to continue the list until we've picked out all the odd creatures. Fun stuff.

What fun! This is certainly imaginative and visually appealing as well as eloquent read aloud--fantastic phonetics in phrasing with a smattering of alliteration and other devices plus inventive rhyming and fine timing...it's musical! Masterful meter and rhymes. I especially likes these:

I can't read from satyrs' sighs
if they'll tantalize
or simply tell lies...

AND

I can't guess a mermaid's mood
or what to conclude
'bout her snide attitude...

AND ESPECIALLY THESE

I can't judge a leprechaun's laugh
or on whose behalf
they'll give autographs...

*Capitalization spag:

I can't forge h(H)eaven or h(H)ell

I love the rhyme of flirt and extrovert but I think the dessert one sounds a bit forced, actually:

I can't claim that fairies flirt
and are extroverts
who won't eat dessert...

I love the way the poem builds up a crescendo to a shift in the clever closing:

I can't...but I could...and just might
let my muse and pen write
ALL these dreams to excite...

YOUR IMAGINATION

This would garner a six if I had one. Bravo.

So entertaining! My entry is more serious. I bet the judges will prefer yours!

Good luck!

Warmly, rd
