A fun lymerick flow to this poem, with a theme I can relate to, from either angle... facing a crowd and letting them down, and facing an entertainer only to be disappointed... though I would never jeer a performer, I like to think I'm too empathetic for that.

The more I read this poem, the more I liked it. The word of the day is meaty... the setup is one of anticipation, and the behavior of crowd and performer is simple but complex. Both greet each other with open arms, and then ... on failure... both blame the other. The performer blames the crowd for not understanding him, and the crowd blames the performer for not knowing what might please them.

I bet his voice was too sibilant. That's what brought on the exsibilation. Your act can't be good if your articulation is not on point.
I think that I have mastered exsibilation. My computer does not like me using it though.

Great pairing of picture and Limerick poem here, Craig! Audiences often clap because they think it's just the polite thing to do, but alas, sometimes the audience can't help but show their 'exsibilation' for an act that really sucks. At least he left before they brought out the hook. :) "I'm so misunderstood" made me laugh.

Excellent job on this limerick, Craig. Your poem clearly conveys the meaning of the word 'exsibilation'. I enjoyed your poem, and I thank you for teaching this reader another new word!

Lol. Well done limerick and I could guess the meaning of the word because I know what a "sibilant" is. But it's very unusual to see an 'x' followed by an 's' which makes the word look oddly misspelled.

A very well-written Limerick about the actor that seems not to be as good at his job as he liked to be. The audience give an honest opinion and it doesn't sound that they were happy with his performance either.
