So you were channeling your inner Isaac Newton when you sat down to write this. You know I like rhyming poems, poems that make sense, and poems the entertain me. Good job.

The cray cute poem just served to remind me that you are still the loon that I have come to know and admire. Please do not ever change. I do not think that I could handle a completely serious Bill Schott. Best advice I can ever give is, stay crazy, it helps, it really does.

Hi Bill, I'm still smiling. You are just so good with these poems where you play with words to make them fit and rhyme. Yes, indeed, take care with apple tree. Good job it was not a coconut. All best. Ulla:))

Cleverly done. The apple-o-gized word is cute. Great work with your rhyme. That is an occupational hazard of poets--being hit on the head with an apple. "Apple tapped" is great sound. "Curly crown" wishful thinking or alliteration? No wonder so many poets write blank verse if they keep getting hit on the head. "Don't stand under the apple tree while you're writing poetry." judi

What a hoot! poet-tree and apple-o-gized. How clever you are! I think that apple probably did more than tap your curly crown. I always get such a laugh from your poems. Keep up the good work.

LOL! Loved this one, so very clever and funny! I love how you have twisted words to fit the rhyme. Poet-tree, (love it) Apple-o-gised! So funny!! Well done, Bill, another excellent piece of writing. :) Sandra xx

A fun little write here, Bill -- not part of a collection? :) ;) It's not quite a 'chain-type' but I like the way you pick up the last line of the first and re-phrase it to fit the second. Gives it an unexpected lift in the middle! :) ;) Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette

A poet, too, I see! This is outstanding and it's nice to see the other side of your writings. I apologize no sixer here, but I would give it. I am just getting into poetry here on FanStory. I never thought I would. I have been strictly a short works writer, but poetry is a lot of fun and not nearly as stressful.
All my best,
Sal

"Apple-o-gized", he says, heh-heh.
Good use of double entendre here, Bill.
I wonder if William Tell experienced a similar experience.
Or, one of the most famous anecdotes in the history of science concerns a young Isaac Newton. As he is sitting in his garden, an apple falls on his head and, in a stroke of brilliant insight, he suddenly comes up with his theory of gravity.
And, as they say, the rest is history.

I asked an apple about gravity once; he didn?t know. I guess he was an apple dumb-ling.

It's my belief that it was all just coreographed, Bill.
