Very well illustrated. Love the black-colored backdrop you chose to bring out the blood-red lettering of your poem. Shall I save the best for last? Your words made this reader see, smell, taste, hear and fear the remains of the battle. I, too, hope we never have to experience this. Very well done. Best of luck in the contest!

Ciao Burnett , nice to meet you!
Thank you very much for such a postive response ..
I'm addicted to black , I just love how it makes pics and writing stand out .
Glad to know that I was able to make you feel the ugly consequences of war ..

Dear Mystery Poet,
This is a poem dealing with the kind of messes we don't generally have to consider much, thank goodness. Sounds like this mess is well worthy of a poem - yuuuccck!

Yes we can consider ourselves fortunate .. Christmas is around the corner , gifts and hearty meals are on their way .
On the other side of the globe a child every 10 minutes is dying of hunger ..others are dying due to some war adults are fighting..we have made a mess of this world .
Thanks for the 5 stars !

Sadly the dark side of mankind prevails always.
Those that have the power to make a different don't care about those that die in war ..and sadly that does included just soldiers but also civilians ,men, women and children.
