Thanks for the encouraging review. Yes, I write many stories on my porch in Vermont. I built it when I was 20 years old and it is filled with antiques and recycled wood, beautiful old maple floor that I found in an old barn one summer. As for Etsy, I have been slack but there might still be some of my ankle bracelets and necklaces.
Now that I am back in Canada after 22 years in Tanzania, I get my inspiration from the snowy forests. Thanks for reading, cheers, j

What a wonderful metaphor medley, dear...thread woven into a blanket around the globe.

Love the voicing and phonetics, especially the C-Q-K sounds in counterpoint with W in the closing line:

covering this chilled world like a warm, quilted blanket.

This should win. Good luck!

Love,
rd

Thanks for your encouraging review rama. Yes a peaceful thought ,but in time there will be someone hogging the blanket. I guess that you do not celebrate Thanksgiving there, but I want you to know that I am thankful for you. I have become a better writer (especially haiku) because of your gentle suggestions and encouraging reviews. Thanks my friend for being a warm and wonderful woman. Namaste, Judy

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have peace on earth for one and all. This is a nice picture for this and it says it all. It is sad with the holidays come we have so much unrest in the world.

Thanks for your insightful review. Yes there is so much useless turmoil in this world, but like Buddha says, we must start with our own world and hopefully it will ripple out. I wish you and your family a safe and joyful Thanksgiving. Cheers, judester

What a beautiful winter picture, it reminds me when I lived in Montreal for 27 years. Your phrase is so appropriate matching your picture, and as you wrote I just wish also that would be more peace on this universe. Amazing is your phrase while reading it sends peace to the writer. Come on win that contest. Love Terry xoxo
I offer u my last star as you deserve it.

Ah, what a pleasant imagining! Enjoyed the sewing imagery from thread to quilt and the internal rhyme of traveling and unraveling plus the alliteration of w-words. Ah, if this cold world could be covered in the warmth of peace!

Thanks for your always insightful review. I think of how blessed we are to be living in Canada/America when so many places suffer. True joy does come from giving and sharing what we can. Bless you my friend. I appreciate your clever reviews and am thankful. Cheers, Judy

Thanks for your encouraging review. I look around sometimes and just want to scream. We are so blessed with this planet and the wonder of living, yet all we do is mean and selfish, not only to fellow human beings but also to our cherished elephants and other innocent animals. Don't even get me started on the mess we are making in our oceans. For now, I will make my little world peaceful and utopic and hope this ripples out to others. Thanks for the review, cheers, j

Nice to be refreshed with a quilted blanket. I like this poem because it reminds me of Christmas. It is soon going to be that time to gather along with family and friends. Nice work!
