Love me a good snow dude pic, dear. We've had some extra rainy, cold days here as well. It's been a weird winter for sure. Your poem flows so smoothly and conveys a brilliant message...you never know what Mother Nature will offer, so be ready to partake :) Good free verse and fun read. I like this poem a lot - the line that I think is my favorite and immediately put me in the scene was when you said, "layers of snow crystals cover leaves, trees, inquisitive squirrels" I was there and I chuckled. Your poem makes me miss Ohio. I left there thirty-five years ago and moved to Florida. I have never missed the long winters, but I always missed the first snowfall of the season.
