Ciao Bill Schott!
Breakfast is my favourite meal ..the smell of toast and scrambled eggs with a strong aroma of coffee that creeps out from the kitchen is already for me a treat in itself ..sitting down and devouring it is the ultimate joy.
I love my toast buttered when it is warm.
When I was in boarding school we used to get the toast served cold and stiff and adding the butter then was disgusting because it didn't melt.ð???
I don't see how so many people deprive themself of this joy and go to work without breakfast
No wonder they are grumpy.
Sometimes if I don't feel like cooking dinner ,I'm satisfied with a toast and an egg.
I have a variant of the traditional toast ..I bake the slice of bread in the a pan with a little bit of butter..I let it go brown and slightly crispy and then I filp it over .. The gas should always be on low.
Nice idea to write a poem about breakfast .
Often it is the simple things in life that put a smile on our face and make us feel good .

Hi Bill. Did you run out of animals? How about koalas? Many women have their ways. I don't do that, but I was always the breadwinner. Still am. My husband does not like shopping that much. I enjoyed this. I am one of the few women who does not enjoy shopping. Maybe because I saved for retirement and gave to charities already. I would not be spending a man's money. I am glad I see this side of your poetry. Those eggs look good. Thank you for sharing

LOL, you fell for it. When ever they do something special theres always a catch. The poem made sense and was entertaining. I haven't had dinner yet, that picture is making my stomach rumble.nice job.

If the answer is "Yes", then surely a small shopping trip isn't too much to ask!!! Just think of what you'll be served up at your evening meal!! the poem is delightfully succinct, and I like the images that it brings to mind. There you were, tucking in to a delicious plate of eggs and ham with toast all buttery and crisp and golden. There would have been coffee afterwards and while you were blissfully sipping, down came the axe!!
