How to commit murder and get away with it, I guess. If he's told everyone she's dead, why would anyone except Mr. Atwood suspect she's alive. P.S. I'd advise her to call a different funeral home thought. Just to be on the safe side. LOL

Hugs, Carol

Thanks again, Begin Again. I love your user name. I don't even remember what that story was about. Guess I will have to read my own work again. LOL

Lol! Oh-oh. I sure hope Mr. Smith gets his act together and helps out his wife in confirming her living status! Great dialogue and I'm glad that Mr. Atwood reassured her even though the president at that time doesn't like to admit his errors, the Soc. Sec. Adm. should be able to rectify the error.

Thank you for reading my old work. I wrote that story over two years ago. I will start writing again after the 1st of the year. I quit in 2018 after my husband passed away and haven't written since.

Priceless! I peg this one as a winner--brilliant ideaa, masterfully executed. The conversation is hilarious--her punchline takes this over the top. Hope to be back with congrats.

Thank you. I wrote this over two years ago. The picture is of my real Grandmother that I never knew. Thanks again

It is a good thing we have crazy ideas from time to time. This sequence is crafted well and contains little subtlety. Still, just enough to be amusing. Well done and write on.

You had to go back a while to review my writing. I haven't written anything since my husband passed away in 2018. I'm thinking of starting again soon and I appreciate your kind remarks on one of my old stories. Thank you

You are a great story-teller. I am so glad you found me to review-- so I could review you back. I love your style. It's clear and fun to read. I should pay more attention to the contests. Your record is impressive.

Social security said my mom was born twice, and issued the same card both times. Took her forever to straighten it out...all dialog and humorous. Excellent.

Thank you for the five stars and your kind words. Sorry, it took me so long to answer. My husband passed away on the 1st of December so I haven't been on here for a while.

A very funny story that made me chuckle. I can see a lot of old couples that go day to day and may not know or care if the other is alive. Well done.

Thank you. Yep, I have seen cases like that too. Isn't it strange how they think enough of one another to marry than wind up disliking each other? Go figure.

'Ghosts can't see themselves in a mirror and they cast no shadow.' It was nice of Mr. Atwood to take the time to convince Anne that she was still among the living.

'... the fool started laughing so hard he fell out of his wheelchair' was Anne's complaint. I have a feeling that Anne will be in need of Mr. Atwood' s service very soon. The husband seems clueless when it comes to his wife's feelings.

I love the dialogue coming out of the mouths of the bewildered Anne and the very patient Mr. Atwood. Very funny story. Well done.

Thank you. Yeah, if I was in Anne's shoes I would need the service of the funeral home.

This story made me laugh. I like the twist at the end as well and found that very funny. I liked the thought of the husband needing the undertaker a good ending. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Hello!
What a hoot! As I read your delightful writing, my thoughts turned to my grandmother McNeil. Your character's words and actions are definitely on par to how my grandmother would have reacted in the same situation. Clearly, we have a strong woman who is not going to take anything from anyone! Wonderful characterization and dialogue.

Best Wishes!
