Easy for you to say way down there. Again, we cannot take in everyone. It is impossible. You would not like it either. It depletes every resource legal citizens need to take care of ourselves. Open border people will get the message when they realize their taxes are paying to support the throngs storming our border. There isn't enough money, healthcare or resources in the world to support such numbers. But, no minds will be changed until the full impact hits them, so why bother. No one who lives in an American border state is for open borders. If they say they are, it's because they are part of the problem and benefiting from it. Marilyn

Indeed you can't take in every single person "storming the borders", Marilyn. But it's more about attitude. I'd venture to say if the leader of pretty much any other country in the western world had been caught describing other sovereign nations as "shithole countries", they would have been dumped. Or they wouldn't have had to, they'd have resigned out of pure shame. Not so your illustrious Head of State, he has none (shame, that is, as he repeatedly demonstrates). And the siege mentality he seeks to build is working just fine. So I guess he can be well pleased with his efforts.

Went to a Trump rally the other night. Highlight on my bucket list. If he can save my country, I'm all for the guy. Otherwise we will become a socialist/communist country with nothing to offer anybody. Those on the left are pretty vile. Maybe your the news from your country doesn't report the vile and viciousness offered by the left. Citizens cannot admit they are Trumpites (like me) for fear of being assaulted. Yes, actually assaulted, spat upon, bullied, property destroyed. What happened to those peaceniks, those loving, warm-fuzzy democrats as they like to tout themselves--all sweetness and light?
Conservatives go to their Trump rallies because we finally actually hear a voice of sanity/common sense. We keep cards close to vest so as not to be a target of those who would hurt us. Frankly, Trump is a breath of fresh air. Tells it like it is. I'm like that myself and admire not shilly-shallying around. It is what it is and truth be told, liberals will do anything to subvert the opposition. Frightening.

I lived in NY for many years. That's the New Yorker in him coming out. They take no guff from anybody and I love it. They tell it like it is. How refreshing is that? He doesn't dance on the head of a pin--unlike politicians who speak but say nothing and think citizenry are fools. He's touched a live nerve in a supposedly dead tooth and that tooth is screaming for attention.
The left is heading toward global rule with open borders. Eventually it will succeed. We will have what is called "The New World Order" with a central gov of unknowns who will make all the decisions for the world itself. There will be no ability to choose our own leaders. I won't be here (I hope) by then, but perhaps my kids and grandkids will be. It will be total chaos, but at the same time, total control by unelected elites. Clinton himself said there is no escaping going totally global. Leftists think this will be Utopia, but it will not be that at all. The right is shoveling against the tide and we know that, trying desperately to hold the line against the inevitable. When the left wakes up--it will be too late. Marilyn

Yes, I agree. Mental illness has many degrees of expression. These two are the ultimate. We must eliminate Sayoc from the equation, though, as his driving force, I believe, is prejudice not political. But who is to know that?
Regarding political misbehavior, it's important to consider the inequality of the left harassing the right. If you kick a dog often enough it will ultimately bite you. Those who taunt and bully, with no expectation of rebuff suffer under delusion. One cannot forever dismiss the meanness of another, as in examples previously given (spitting at, shouting down, harassment in restaurants, destruction of property, threats of personal violence). Sooner or later it reaches a boiling point.
The truth of the matter is that NOBODY likes it when an opposing candidate gets into office. But that's what we have to endure for the time being whether we like it or not. No matter which way the mid-term elections go here in America next week, it will be volatile. The border issue is a powder keg. We're in for some tough times here.
I envy you living in a country where you don't have to worry about such things. Your populace is self contained--most countries don't have that luxury, plus you have strict immigration laws with politicians who back them up. We don't have that here. It's a free-for-all and I DO mean that. Free everything for those who storm our borders--free education, free medical, free social services. Those illegally entering even get voting rights with everyone looking the other way. America is on the downslide and will never recover from the errors being made now.

Ask about ACA and they love it. Republicans and trump have tried at every turn to get rid of it. Some of those lying republicans are part of a lawsuit to let insurance companies opt out of covering people with preexisting conditions. So disgusting. Meanwhile our debt rose by 1.5 trillion because of a tax bill for the wealthy So they lie knowing their voters don't know anything and will believe them. Especially when all of them lie together. We believe in an inclusive society with equality for all. And equal opportunity. We welcome people with good reason for

But I am ok with hand guns. Most of us were against the Iraq war. So republicans lie in unison and bully. In this day and age, Pam, the rest of the world has a much better knowledge, and takes a much keener interest in what goes on in the States than in previous generations. Global media is a powerful thing. It's also a dangerous thing, when so much of it is controlled by people like Murdoch (and worse). One reason we are entitled to be interested is not just because we can also suffer recriminations due to what some jerk in the White House says or does, but inevitably other leaders of similar ilk are encouraged to follow suit with lunatic policies.
