Now that I've got the Mafia involved, I'm not sure how I'm going to get rid of them! I'm hoping that Charles and Helen will be able to sort that out for me in due course - if they survive, of course!

Oh, wow...I love the Thai classes and how she came to be a defender of self...this is building up quite nicely, dear. The excellent, crisp dialogue, the ample content that grants the reader a glimpse into the lives, minds, and attributes of each character, the vibrant imagery...all compose a cohesive chapter worthy of a six. By far, this is my favorite chapter thus far. The consistently steady flow and immaculate writing is why I award you this six. I am in awe of your talent. Keep em coming :)

Oh, wow...I love the Thai classes and how she came to be a defender of self...this is building up quite nicely, dear. A most interesting mystery story that I have just caught up with. I especially liked the self-defence class (having done judo and karate many moons ago.) I like stories that have a narrator e.g Kathy Reichs does all her narrating; makes for a better understanding of the plots and characters. Well done my friend.

I like the connection between recycling and the rag and bones mans. A lot of humorous banter in spite of the dangerous situation. I find it a pleasant relief from the clichéd crime story.

Thanks, Shari. I'm glad you are enjoying this, and I'm delighted that you think it worth a sixth star. Most affirming! For what it's worth, there are two literary terms for understatement: meiosis and litotes. The latter being used when a negative is involved i.e. that's not bad.

I think you had some good descriptions of the scene of the rescue, it was very visual and I could see it like it was on TV. The dialogue was crisp, and a bit emotional. As it needed to be. The connection between Charles and Helen, a romantic connection, now seems more vital to the story. Issues of trust and dedication come to the fore. An interesting chapter, and I can't wait to see where you go with it. estory
