Well of course all the world fell for the dumb Keynesian economics that states and even apparently proves with some kind of charts and things which is spend your way out of debt. We keep trying it and it is about as successful as the trickle down theory. But hey humankind will not resort to using common sense until all other alternatives have been exhausted. So we're still working on it.
Excellent poem, Craig. No snake oil here, okay?

Yes, it's like that all the way around. Wish our schools would teach the children more about responsible spending to open dialogue with their parents so both would be wiser.
It's such a fun sounding word, 'thrimble' that it should have a more light-hearted meaning - like: he thrimbled across the field of flowers.

To me, it sounds like a very prim and proper school headmistress. "Better not be upsetting Mrs Thrimble, if you know what's good for you!" :)

I agree. We are passing on our excesses to our kids. Many people don't give a darn because they are getting "theirs." We are not a responsible society, as were our forefathers/mothers. Being responsible for ourselves and future generations is a lost art. Well written piece on a complicated subject. Marilyn

Hi Craig. Those pesky parasites humans again, eh? Look at what is happening here. Russia oligarchs bought a puppet with trump and the wealthy here got a trillion dollars. Now they are saying that we have a huge debt so now we have to cut health care for the elderly and poor and cut social security. And then spend it on a new arms race. It sounds like Australia might have the same issue. Thank you for sharing

This is a great rhyming poem and shines the spotlight fairly and squarely on the crazy indebtedness taking a hold of our world, egged on by politicians with spurious credentials or worse. It is a ticking time bomb, ensnaring our young, buying things on the never-never. Just look at the UK's Brexit vote - 70% approx. of over 65's voted to leave; 70% of under 30's voted to remain. Who's future is it, who will pay the hideous price for the biggest act of economic self-harm ever conceived ? Sorry for the rant :) Best wishes.
