Ohhh, you are cruel, my sweet friend! Juuuuuust as I was feeling all happy and content, BOOOM! I am thrust into another time travel, this one even more earth-shattering (literally, it seems!) than the last!! Now I have to read the next chapter immediately. (It sounds like I'm lamenting about that, but I'm actually quite happy. xo)

What a joy to read. I am glad I took a chance on the fantasy/time traveling short story/chapter. Your use of dialogue is well-written. I enjoyed that you don't just use he said, and then she said, but you offer an action packed story instead. :)

Veronica and Mildred are back in 1996 long enough to have a proper cup of tea, and spend some quality time with James and the kids before they are in another situation that has Mildred screaming, "Oh, Lordy. Run, Miss Veronica-run!"
You are great at keeping the suspense going. Veronica and Mildred realize what has happened, but we, the readers, have to wait until the next installment to find out.

Veronica and Mildred are back in 1996 long enough to have a proper cup of tea, and spend some quality time with James and the kids before they are in another situation that has Mildred screaming, "Oh, Lordy. Run, Miss Veronica-run!"
You are great at keeping the suspense going. Veronica and Mildred realize what has happened, but we, the readers, have to wait until the next installment to find out.

You're back in your element in this chapter with the dialogue between Mildred and Veronica, and the humor. That was a great choice to have Mildred says she was Lady Edith Humphries, Sir John's mother. I think everyone will get a kick out of that bit of quick thinking.
I always enjoy learning the quirky little difference between OLD English and modern American English. I like the maths, there are, after all, many subjects in math. I taught many maths in my career.
And then, out of the frying pan, into the fire. Sounds like our heroes have moved forward to one of the world wars, likely WWII. Of course, I could be wrong. The Powers may have made a mistake and sent them forward all the way to the Apocalypse. lol
I think you may be related to H. G. Wells. You've a bit of the Time Machine in ya.

I was Dear Herbert's sister in my previous life! lol. There are quite a few differences in UK English, and US English, and I'm often picked up on so-called spelling mistakes. I had to put the * over Maths, as that's another one I've been picked up on. The funniest difference is your thongs, which we call flip-flops. You can look up on Google what a thong is in England! :)) Now, you know I'm not going to tell you where they are now, and no, the powers haven't made a mistake. You will see how it all comes together in the next few parts. Thank you so much, Robert, for this fun review, and your lovely comments. HI Pam, only one person has guessed where they are, and she isn't really sure. All will be revealed soon. I've been working on the next part today, so it's in it's rough first draft. I'm glad you liked the family scenes, and the ending. We have come to the time that over the next couple of parts, Veronica and Mildred's assignment will be revealed. It's taken longer in this book, but the previous chapters were really important to the plot.

I will look forward to the next assignment and adventure for Ver. and Mildred! Have a great weekend. Did you get the snow they mentioned in the news in Britain? We are getting wind and rain here.

No snow, but very cold. We had a heavy frost last night and had to scrape the ice off the car this morning. Fortunately, we live right on the South Coast, so we rarely get the snow. When we do, the rest of the country gets it a lot worse. This is when I hibernate!!
I wonder what your idea was? So long as it is possible for the characters to still be around and active in that period.... :))

I feel a little bit hyped. In actuality, these women or at least Mildred maybe have a nervous breakdown. Their lives jump from danger to safety to nurturing to possible harm every minute. Veronica and Mildred's life is a rollercoaster. Excitement agrees with Veronica.
