Oh, how I adore this poem - the construction, the music, the message and the meter/rhymes! It is poetry at its best.
I just love layered meaning in the opening line. What a way to open a poem! Love it, love it, love it!

Thanks again for the exceptional review and the encouraging comments about the construction of it, it is a bit imaginative, a bit experimental, in that the musical elements come from repeating patterns of sound and phrases. Glad you enjoyed it estory

This deserves a six, but alas, I only have 5 star ratings left. I loved this! Our lives are tapestries, woven from the threads of time and memory, dark and light. It reminded me of a Clive Barker book I read years ago, entitled "Weaveworld." Weird and fantastical aside, the story was about a magical carpet that had an entire universe woven into its threads. Well done! All the best, Ann Marie

This is absolutely beautiful! You've captured the essence of a life filled with moments and memories interwoven into a masterpiece that is unique to each individual. And the words alone are enough to paint that image without using supportive artwork. Great job. I enjoyed the creativity and originality.

Oh, how pretty!
I see this as a scarf....gently flowing on the winds of life.
Embroidered, cross-stitched, crocheted, and in some places, to strengthen the fabric...knitted.
Threads of gold, where riches briefly glittered, and threads of satin grey for teardrops.
A scarf flowing with feeling...this is quite captivating.
Just beautiful.
Blessings...

This poem really resonated with me. We may not think about it day to day, but our friends and family really do weave together the very fabric, the tapestry, of our lives.

Smiles to your great new way of getting our attention with out meter your rhythmic and musical patterns of words,
I like to pick out the part that made me smile
Embroidered throughout our memories and dreams Creating the threads of colors in our lives Like so many voices, dreams and pieces of music

I really enjoyed reading your poem. It has such deep meaning. I like how you use the -ing verbs to show action of the memories and pieces of our lives moving in and out of our spaces. A suggestion would be to change the background color
To a more lively one, because the title. "Wonderful Tapestry." I'm new to this site since last month, but I thought you would like to know how a reader perceives it. This is a beautiful and intelligent work in my opinion.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your perspectives on this poem. It's always great to see how poems open up and become different things to different people, and how people perceive poetry on the site. I'm kind of old school, I don't really concentrate on posting photos, and worrying about layout. I consider it a printed poem on a page, and work to create images and music with the language. But it is something to bear in mind. estory

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your perspective on the poem and its music. It is a bit different, in that I strove for a dense, tightly stitched sound scape of repeating patterns of the same words and phrases to make the music, rather than rely on strict meter and rhyme. But I am glad this structure seemed to have worked. estory

A very well-written poem about our thoughts that come and go every few seconds through our mind. If we could record each thought it can become an interesting collage of thoughts.
