Oh, how impressive. The structure, the naturally progressing order of thought and emotional decision, is so beautiful.
I confess to being a lot like the half empty glass person and yet coming to FS introduces, encourages me to feel more of the half to 3/4 full side of things.
Your belief about life is always uplifting!

What a wonderful read this was, the basic foundations of happiness are written here with such splendid simplicity.
A delightful poem that gave me a smile.

A beautiful picture and a beautiful 'I can't' poem. Your first verse concerning all the misery that, if we let it, can send us gloomy but then you concentrate on looking for the simple, little things in our day that makes it worthwhile. Lovely read,
cheers,
valda

This is a lovely poem filled with positivity and a reminder that we should be grateful and appreciative of every day and that happiness is actually very simple to achieve. This is something I have come to see as well. I used to be so hard on myself and was always striving for more to achieve a state of happiness and acceptance within myself but now I have learned through having therapy and dealing with my mental health issues that happiness is inside of me. Your poem spreads this message too and I think it's a beautiful piece. Simplicity is golden x

Thank you so much, Hayley. I'm glad it works for you as well. Nothing or no one can make us happy. We have to find it within ourselves, just as you said.

What a lovely and inspiring poem reminding us to appreciate the simple joys of life, even when we're surrounded by much sadness. It comes down to focus and point of view. The artwork is stunning and the words flowed smoothly. Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom.

Very beautiful poem. I always say that we need to stop and look at where we are and how far we have gone, no matter how physically far or just far as growth. Your poem is beautifully written and doesn't need any changes.

Absolutely love the last two lines. What a great way to finish.

I don't think it is responsible to bury our heads in the sand and ignore all the bad stuff that is going on around us. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to speak up about the very real threats in the world today. On the other hand, being miserable all the time is a real drag. We have a right and a responsibility to ourselves to be happy. I think balance is the key.

You are so right, true happiness can't be bought, it comes from the simple things.

Fine job with this, excellent rhyme and meter as well.

Best of luck in the contest.

I agree with you with that we have to warn our children of dangers, and how to cope in life. But they also need to see the beauty in life. Thank you for this great review.

Terrific, upbeat poem about misery vs. happiness. We all have some of each in our lives, but as you suggest, many folks concentrate too much on their misery and not enough on those things and people that would make them happy. If you look for something, you will find it, so look for the positive in life. :)

What a beautiful presentation this is , Yavonne. Everything just flows so well from start to finish. So full of heart.

I felt you might be better off by breaking the lines up abit though, like into three or four line stanzas.

Bravo, good job, my friend.
