This was a delightful post, Craig. Your godmother would be so proud. Actually, I think it as incredible as you that theism relates to tea as well as a God. Fascinating. I need to reread some of your religious posts to get a good handle on your beliefs. I remember they are fascinating as well.

Oh, they're fairly simple, Debbie... you could even say non-existent. That's why a couple of people found it funny -- I was kind of leading them up the garden path, a bit of a tease. I actually find the idea of godparents bizarre, but mine was extremely kind to me as a child, and I have very fond memories of her. Many thanks for the great review.

So... my mother reading tea leaves isn't quite the same... (and is a complete non sequitur but who cares? It was fun to share. *grin*) Besides, I have to fill up this review box with something, and I've decided I want to do that with little tidbits of unrelated fact or fancy that I fancy. LOL!!!!!!! (I'm sick of offering the same words over and over. I probably shouldn't even be reviewing right now, at least for those who seldom give a reviewer ANYTHING to work with! MESS UP. lol!)

I love a cup of tea in the late afternoon, but first thing in the morning it's gotta be strong coffee to wake me up.
I love how for the first two-thirds of your poem you have your reader wondering what "theic" is, and you put some fun into it. "I'll drown in antioxidants 'til I'm so fit and well" ... great line!
Great rhyming, smooth flowing, clever and fun ... this poem's a winner! I enjoyed reading your author notes as well. Now, please pour me a cup of "hibiscus" tea.

It is a deadly serious topic, Gloria. And tea must always be stirred anticlockwise (or is that counterclockwise? I'm never sure, being neighboUrs and all, how much you've been corrupted by those people south of the border).

Lol. I know. It's sad because decaf green lacks so much flavor. I am just too sensitive to caffeine. Sadness.

I like this poem! I am a tea drinker, too. Good job, Craig. Your words flow smoothly with good rhymes. I like flavored hot teas and good ice tea. We have a restaurant here that makes great ice tea--wish I had a hose form there to my house just for tea. Thanks for sharing. Jan

My other half has just got me on to iced tea infusions, Jan. Tea bags you just drop into cold water. Currently I have two varieties - watermelon, strawberry and mint; and passionfruit, mango and blood orange. The great thing is, I can get three tall glasses from one bag. So for the first time ever, I'm actually drinking my recommended amount of water each day :) Thanks for the fine comments.

No, I haven't heard of sun tea. What is it?

You put several tea bags in a container that can be covered. Then add water. Then set in the sun for several hours and the heat brews the tea. I had a neighbor who made this in a 2 quart glass pitcher with lid. He put this out on his cement fence every morning and had tea by noon or later. I think you can use as many bags as desired--he didn't use that many, and nothing ever bothered it on the fence. Here in the states we have cold water tea bags--just add the bags to water in a pitcher and it brews sitting on the counter--doesn't take that long either. I like strong tea and even stronger hot tea.
