Excellent

Here's another poem I remember reading, and yet, after I read this again, I couldn't think of anything productive to mention other than: Yep, I liked this poem. I think that's one of my biggest hangup I had reviewing this year, that I don't like not having two complete thoughts to rub together to offer.

This poem, I'm letting you know, I read and thought: : )


Other things I thought:

I liked the Cardin... because I can, slight inner rhyme,
The hoity toity sense of hoochie coochie,
The clue that the swagger and smooth was over the top, leading to a person who might think they are it, but everyone else not-so-much

And in the end, the poem did well to capture that mammamoochie tone.

Solid presentation that all worked together into a flash image.

Great picture, I thought for a minute the poem would be about someone who dug through a movie star's garbage. Lol. My husband is a plumbing contractor in Malibu and occasionally brings home discarded items from a very rich person's discard pile (or trash can). He is very into recycle/reuse, my husband!

As they say, one person's trash is another's treasure :) I'm big into recycling/reuse too.

A bit of a digression, but I love to tell the story of a friend of mine who had a wardrobe they no longer needed. It was in good condition, so they put it on the nature strip in front of their house, with a sign that read "Free - please take". A week later, it was still there, so she wrote a new sign... "For sale - $50". You guessed it - it was gone the next morning when she got up :)

Your poem delightfully conveys the meaning of the word, and I love the rhyming in this poem -- Gucci/hoochie-coochie/smoochy/mamamouchi. This is well presented and fun to read.

Megalomaniac. My brother is schizophrenic as well as bi polar. Poor guy. I remember him saying that people on the bus were envious of him. He could tell from the way they looked at him. Well done on the meter and rhyme. Thank you for sharing

Hmm. Mamamouchi reminds me of certain politicians. And it also reminds me of the sound of "scaramouche" - the clown character in an Italian play. (and like someone who was briefly in politics.)

Ok. This one takes the prize for weird rhymes. Mamamouchi, Gucci, smoochy, and hoochie-coochie.That's never been done I am sure. Any three would have been downright amazing.

This is fantastic, Craig. It's a word that has that certain pizazz and the rhymes are like the tango. It's bouncy and fun and to the point to those haughty folks who mistakenly believe themselves to be more important than they really are.
