Interesting thoughts well presented in this introspective poem. Pleasing visual presentation also, good color and picture.

A very well-written poem about the end of our lives that will come one or other time and we should prepare our souls to know where the everlasting life with God can be find, and acceptance that our bodies will stay behind.

This is a poignant and thought provoking piece, thank you for sharing it. Death is something that is difficult for most people to write about simply because it really is the BIG unknown in life.

Wow- such a poignant piece that speaks of dying and the state of being that comes just before...and your comparison of anesthesia to what it may be like almost makes one not want to ever have surgery! :) ;) I do remember the last two surgeries, though, and you're right, in a way, you feel yourself fading and your vision finally disappears before the sounds and then...waking up. Your write certainly gives the reader a lot to think about...Thank you for sharing! :) Yvette :)

Hello Bucketlist your poem Death and Dying with
alternate rhyme stanzas doesn't leave a reviewer
should have no fear of death, after all it's going to take place it's part of live.

I don?t think it?s fear of death itself, I think it?s pain, or suffering, combined , or with the uncertainty of when. Thanks for reviewing

The last poem I read was also about death. Must be a lot of baby-boomers on here :) I believe, I am a born-again christian, that death will place me in heaven. Where there will be peace, joy and no more pain. Those who have had out-of-body experiences after dying, return with stories of visiting heaven. Some of visiting hell. I know where I wish to spend eternity :) Excellent imagery ...especially the comparison of memories to a cruise ship. Excellent job!!

The rigid construction of the rhythm and rhyme scheme here really expresses that sense of being unable to break out of life's confining parameters; especially death. you kind of speak of these things in very black and white terms; you are either good or bad, and going to heaven or hell, but then at the end there is that sense of just fading away, into an undefined haze. its kind of high contrast. I think you have to decide what kind of experience this is going to be; peaceful, or listening to that gavel fall in the court room. estory
