Hi, Craig,

I do think I'm a queen. I'm the queen of my own life, and I make decisions that are always best for ME! I think that is an entitlement of being almost sixty. (EEK!)

(I have no hubris)

Thank you for sharing,

~patty~

    Haha, love it!

Yes, surviving long enough entitles us to some privileges, I think. Although, in Fanstory terms, I think you and I are but pups (or kittens, if you're a cat person) ;-)

    Many thanks, Patty.

Wonderful limerick, and a sensational new word! This seems pretty timely now, although I'd imagine it would have been timely at any point in the last hundred years. Nicely crafted poem.

I wonder how often "sceptredom" is ever used as "kingdom" is much more clear in meaning. I guess both are symbolic whether the man or the symbol of rule. Yes, we should give up the ruling aspect of our inclinations except to rule our own thoughts and actions.

Wouldn't that be something if we could do that? Many thanks, Helen -- Craig

You are spot on with this wise write Craig. We are part of this world not the other way around and we need to respect other people, ideas, and lifeforms to survive. Excellent use of iambic meter and I loved the seamless incorporation of the word of the day. Nicely penned.

Nicely done witty but true limerick about the dangers of too much pride. Making to much of yourself just makes the fall farther.

Keep writing.

This is such a writer's treat - a brand new word to ponder and so beautifully encompassed in a poem with reflections and language befitting such a word- well done

What an awesome word -- yep, that's one that I'll be keeping! :) And the manner in which you have employed it here -- imaginary sceptredom -- genius!! Your limerick put to a more regal sound and presentation was also genius....you, sir, are on a roll today!! :) ;)

Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette :)

This poem struck me as a most worthy recipient of my last six stars. I very much agree with the message and love how it was conveyed. Rhymes and meter are perfect and there is a light-heartedness to it that adds to its strong appeal.

Excellent! so true!
This is outstanding, actually, in scope and perspective! Love this line:

we need to view ourselves on cosmic scale.

Great rhymes and flow. Fantastic presentaiton. Superb phonetics, especially the S sounds in all lines. Well done~

Hi Craig. Great job with the use of sceptredom. I think we may all suffer from that ailment from time to time. Don't we know better than anyone else? A human condition of unacceptability of no one's POV but our own. Marilyn

Of course, as individuals we always know best, Marilyn. Still, if every once in a while we view it from someone else's perspective, especially if those someones are non-human, it can be a real eye-opener. Cheers, Craig
