This is an excellent entry for the 10 word poem contest. I can see why you came first place with this one. A very reflective read that grabbed my attention and took me along with the pondering of words and picture. Congratulations! ~DD

We all wonder on what is ahead for us, but we can only guess and then things turn out different for us. Most of the things will be bright, at least I hope. I know it will. Congratulations on winning the 10 word poem! Deservedly so. I like your poem. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on winning the contest with this interesting poem on aging and what lies ahead. As we wait and ponder our lives, we have to live each moment. Marilyn

Excellent use of words that captures real life. Most of us have the thoughts expressed in your poem, we do not often know what lies ahead. Congrats on winning the contest.

Hello again Jen
Another good piece. Very tight, economical and direct as a result. A thought-provoking topic and perhaps the measure of all of us: how do we address this thought? Some are certain in their faith and look forward almost joyously, others have doubts - still others are certain in their lack of faith and so on. This, of course, only addresses those who, like your subject, consider life 'forward'. There must be an equal and opposite number who face this moment in life by looking backwards - split into two camps: those who dwell on the 'what ifs' of life and those who bask in what was accomplished.
In the end, we all face death alone - it is that solitude which unites us.
This is a very good piece of writing in the small format you are allowed. It is clear why this won the contest.
I wish you well with your future writing.
cheers
phill

'Final Journey", is short, succinct and very much to the point. Each short line is woven with the golden threads of truth. To me, this is a six, but I only have fives left.
I look forward to seeing your next post.

This is what my life has been reduced to! I'd much rather live in the NOW. Wonderful use of alliteration with waiting, wondering, when and what. Also the inclusion of
'how' as in a news story.
Congrats on winning the contest.
