Craig, I enjoyed reading this about the Cyllenian devil or old Father Time. You used very good and interesting words speaking about him. I enjoyed reading about your word of the day my friend. Blessings, Teri

Hi, Craig,

It seems that every year is going by faster and faster as my birthdays go by. I am in total shock that it is almost September. I just moved into my house last...no, a few...no, almost eight months ago!

May as well not even buy a calendar for next year - the pages go by too quickly,

    Hi Patty,

Please rest assured I have read, and truly appreciate your comments. And, as is always the case, I responded individually to them. Then, by simply pressing the wrong button, I irretrievably lost ten responses that had taken me half an hour or more to type (not for the first time). I don't have time to retype them all today, so you are now receiving a "canned" response, and for that I'm sorry.

Please know that I do appreciate your comments, very much. And, if you get time, perhaps drop Tom a note suggesting he remove the stupid "Next Page" button from the comments page, or at least auto-save the responses before opening a new page. Thanks :)

This is another fantastic one, Craig - and in this one, your metre stood out. "attacks us remorselessly, stealing our prime" and "he pilfers vitality, makes us grow cold" just have a brilliant rhythm thanks to their wonderful multisyllabic words.

Now, if you ever catch the cynellian trickster, can you tell him I want my teenage years back? :D

Ah yes, I have to agree Craig. He is thieving at it's best. The Vitality Pilferer of olde' LOL

I DO like it how you f**k his little red wagon at the end.

With that said, he is SO gonna play havoc with your stinky old corpse haha

LOVED this.
You are SUCH a talent mate.

AND you're Strayan. What more could I ask for?!! haha

Rhyming perfection at it's best and in an ambling jiggety jig, if that's possible LOL

Hugs P

My stinky old corpse won't give a ****, Phillippa :)

Ambling jiggety jig? Have you seen me dance? I seem to remember some reference to a stalker lol

Many thanks for the most delightful review :)

You have two left feet just like me.

    Shall we?

    LOL

Nope, on second thoughts, we'd trip each other and ourselves up.

This is one of your more poignant pieces, but it still ends in that wonderful surprise (which, in and of itself, is a profound last line -- love it!). Maybe it hits those of us older ones out here a little harder, but your writing here really moved me.....and, yeah, I know it's all about the thievery, but your subject here hit home today about the "time".....

Thank you for all your creations, sir, they are each a wonder in themselves -- the smiles are priceless!! :) :)

You are very kind, Yvette. Thanks for the lovely comments. The one thing we can say about time is he is no respecter of persons - he gets us all in the end, or more correctly, a little each day :) Cheers, Craig

This poem, The Bandit, gives up some mythological information that had gotten past me, I guess, about the connection of Hermes to thieves. "A thousand purses can be snatched by a running man." Anonymous.

I enjoyed reading your poem, Craig. Good job on the rhyme & smooth flow of lines. I like the story. It is interesting to think about it. You are right. Time is a thief in all ways. However, we don't realize it at first because we are too busy with all the things of life. Your author notes were super. I liked them as much as the poem. Your picture is great, too. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thank so much for the very kind comments, Jan. It was interesting to me, as I hadn't heard that little piece of information about Hermes before. Cheers, Craig

So you think that man wins in the end? I don't think so, Craig.
This is a good little ditty. I enjoyed it very much. I don't think that I will remember that word though--too many consonants.

Well, when we are back to the atoms from which we came, I think it's fair to say that time no longer affects us, Debbie. Whether that's a win is, I guess, debatable :) Cheers, Craig

Time is the biggest thief of all. He takes everything away from us minute by minute after he gave it all to us to begin with. "Indian giver" we used to say about someone who does that. Wonder where that came from.? Well done CD. :) Nancy

A very well-written poem about some people that perfected the art of theft in such a way that they look like heroes instead of the criminals they really are, to steal from others is not a good thing.,
