Hi, Craig,

I've known a few 'white witches.' Their magic was indeed jugglery. It was truly hard to not laugh in their faces, but since I was in a supervisory role, and it would have been cruel to laugh at something someone took so seriously, I kept my opinions to myself.

I just don't know what to do about this tail,

~patty~

You were a supervisor in a coven, Patty? That would be interesting, I imagine lol

    Many thanks, Craig

Hi Craig, i like the message of your poem a whole lot. I also dislike magical thinking because it is not an accurate picture of the universe to effect change. Great rhythm and end rhyme in your poem, and a seamless incorporation of the word of the day.

Thanks very much, Pam. Unfortunately, there seems to be a great deal of it going around these days. Cheers, Craig

I love the way that you look at life. Apparently, you don't believe in magic, not even real magic. I agree with you. That work friend's comment is hilarious. Feigned magic and real magic should be oxymorons. Neither of them make sense.
Enjoyed your thoughts as usual.

Hi Craig,

You chose the perfect picture to complement your poem and to help your reader remember the meaning of the word 'jugglery', as it looks like the magician is trying to juggle a few tricks to give the illusion that it's all magic.

This is a fun poem to read. I enjoyed it! Excellent rhyming and I love your daft/witchcraft rhyme. :)

Cheers,
Connie

Another brilliant poem, Craig. I love the rhythm, especially in the line "by silly incantations spoke" - just fantastic. Also love your wife's colleague's comment - very funny indeed!

I'm fairly sure she wasn't intending to be funny, Robbie. Pity, because she excelled at it :) Many thanks.

A very well-written poem about the magic that has two parts, the one is trickery of the eyes by super quick hands, the other is more sinister and can become dangerous when we fool around with it when we are just curious.

Good point. I guess your wife's co-worker believes in fairies and some kind of 'real' magic? I suppose something that's a "jugglery" is intentionally made to look supernatural as opposed to real events that is physically inexplicable. Good explanation in your poem!

Thanks very much, Helen. The only magic I believe in is how the money magically disappears from my bank account before it even hits my wallet :)

a really great write, CD. I am with you and your other, what does it mean? I guess you would have to believe in 'real' magic to make the distinction..............meeshu
