Good job, Craig, with your word for today. Your limerick reads smoothly. I had to smile with the use of 'thang.' Yeah, that's pure country. Your picture is a great choice for your well chosen words. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Hi Craig, that's another interesting word. It obviously derives from rustic, so I'm stating the obvious. You've composed a great little poem around the word. I liked the picture. Very rustic, indeed! All the best. Ulla:))

Thanks very much for the lovely review, Ulla. Yes, it comes from that word, I quite like the sound of it :) Most grateful, Craig

Ha! I love it! "Rusticate" sounds like something slightly untoward and cheeky - or maybe that's just the brilliantly fun way you phrased your opening lines.

Bet you're quite the expert at rusticating, out there in the outback! :D

I rusticate every chance I get, even when I'm alone :) Once in a while I head into the big smoke, but
I usually start getting the jitters about Lithgow (around 140 km from Sydney). Many thanks, Craig

Thank you for sharing another curious word with us. I enjoyed your rhymes and clever theme song, especially after re-reading your profile notes about the population on your "little piece of the Earth"! Cheers- Joan .

Hi Craig. I guessed this word right away. Maybe the photo helped. Rust being old. But your poem also reinforced my guess. I used to want to retire to a rural area. But my health is too bad. Nice work. Thank you for sharing

Sorry to hear your health isn't good, Pam. Medical facilities do tend to be much better in cities. But in terms of staying healthy, I think the country has its advantages. Cheers, Craig

What I noticed first off is that cabin has is immaculate and so are the grounds. That's not even hardly rustic at all, it's like almost Hilton Hotel Vintage Cabin series. There's likely even gold seats in that outhouse. Yeeeesh.

That said i like the repetitions in this Limerick, Craig. I don't I've ever seen that in the form before, but I'm sure it's not new, on account of whoever the dumb butt was who wrote there's nothing new under the sun. That guy hasn't looked hard enough in my opinion.

Excellent write and most unique too. It's almost like a round song too, like it needs more verses, yes?

Gloria

The ancient, rusting, farm implements and bleached cattle bones are just out of shot, Gloria :)

I'm willing to put in the extra effort to create a couple more verses. Who do you think will take it up? Celine, perhaps? Or maybe "The Biebs"? Hell, no, it's got to be Gordy! :)

Thanks for the fun review, as always.

    Craig

That's a fun word to throw around retirees. I think we are rusticating just fine here or maybe just rusting, I'm not sure. But it's great to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

Haha, rusting. I like it. For the record, no part of my machinery is rusting, although a few might have seized up :) Many thanks, Helen.

Sometimes city living ain't my thang. But then, sometimes it is. Thanks for the invite though. That's really all I had to say about rusticating, but I can't send my thought until I reach 150 characters. Good luck in the contest. Oh, yeah, this isn't a contest is it?

Love the rhyme and rhythm of your poem Craig.
A catchy little offering that I'm sure many of us would love to take you up on. LOL Not me! I am rusticating in my own space. Good Job This and fun too. :) Nancy

As long as you have your own rustication zone, all is good, Nancy :) Thanks for the lovely review -- Craig

A very well-written poem about the rustic life. I guess, I can say we are living the rustic life. There are three big cities not closer than 300km from where we live.
