Good tale of this fated internet romance Craig, and I love the description of himself.I agree I think the old fashioned dating days were much better. Loved this lighthearted look at internet dating.
cheers,
valda

You could be right Craig but does anybody date the old fashioned way any more. You have written a very humorous poem. I really enjoyed readi g it. All the best Jen.

What? Actually stepping out the front door, "going out" and meeting people? I suspect there could be a few die-hards left, Jen. Not me personally, my other half takes a dim view of such things ;-)

    Many thanks,

Hi Craig, first of all, I will comment on this wonderfully written poem with a story within. It's so well written and contains some old truths. I somehow guessed what the 'Yorkshire mile' meant but I can't say I've ever heard it used. Great writing. All best. Ulla:))

Hi Craig
This entertaining piece brings up many stories I've heard,
of many singed, burned and scolded unfortunates.
I can't say I've ever been on a dating site.
Everything gets back to the wife.
I enjoy / flinch this program from time to time.
Too old and prewarned to go looking for easy pussy. :-))Z.

You mean your wife would take a dim view of it? Her and her old fashioned views... lol

    Thanks, Z :)

How fun!! And I especially like your title using the modern show - could have just as easily called it 'truth in advertising'! :) :) LOL! My brother-in-law 'met' his wife through one of those websites....they're divorced now. I'll let that one stand on it's own merit! :) :)

As always, thank you for sharing! :) Yvette

Thanks very much, Yvette. I guess if your brother's wife wasn't a 250 lb builder named Mike, then he probably did better than most on that show :) Cheers, Craig

Hi, Craig,

You certainly did a great job of the set-up for the word usage. Love the artwork, and I love the premise of the story - it was a nice touch to have his eyes cross.

Great work, as always, but this was a bit more special than usual,

A very well-written poem and a warning to be careful not to admit to a love relationship via the internet before you did not meet the one on the other side, the internet is an ideal tool for hiding the real truth.

Thanks again, Sandra. It is indeed a minefield, and many have been injured. Cheers, Craig

Ah yes, Craig...

Life is indeed a bit like a catfish sometimes. We think it's one thing and it turns out to be something different altogether. Online dating, I guess is no different to any other kind of meeting of mind and body. My grandparents met in the usual way and were married until he died. Years later it turns out that he had been having an affair with a family friend, Mrs Fag; a woman he grew up with as a child.

'Catfish' is a horror of a programme. I detest these 'big brother' types of documentaries that spy on people's private lives all for the sake of money making. Sign of the times, I guess...

Interesting poem, Craig. Leaves much to ponder.

Nice to see you parked there in my inbox this morning.

kind regards

trimple

Thanks, Trimple. I'm not a fan of the program. For one, I'm anti-violence, but I just want to slap them silly for being so dumb. Most grateful, Craig

Entertaining story poem, Craig! And there's just as much success with arranged marriages as with those where people fall in love.
Enjoyed learning about the Yorkshire mile!

I suspect you're right, Helen - but are arranged marriages that unsuccessful? ;-) Many thanks, Craig

Hmm. Well it depends on how far back you go. My generation whether self-chosen or arranged, everyone seems happy. My parents generation, whether arranged or not (most were) seem unhappy. But it could be due to having to live with in-laws.

Oh some pretty clever double entenders here, and of course all the statements can create different images and usually much overinflated.

Excellent post friend, Craig and Yorkshire mile is very fleer.

I wonder why they don't call it dogfishing? Any ideas? That's just a rhetorical question, so need for a real answer.

Much enjoyed.

Gloria

I have a theory or two, but not for a family time slot. Many thanks once again :) Cheers, Craig
